Sigma 30mm F1.4 EX DC HSM

Did a low light fashion shoot last week with this lens - outdoors and with only streetlights to work from. Was a great companion to my m4/3 kit. Although originally purchased for use with an e620 4/3 this "legacy" lens worked a treat. Not so fast to focus but the images were punchy, sharp and had great subject / background separation when shooting at f2.

Very much also it is very quite good. I don't have HG&SHG series lenses, therefore can compare only to a series the standard. It is made well. I have bought the Sigma 30mm F1.4 together with my Pentax K10D more than four years ago. It became my favorite little lens, at least for portraits e.g. of children. Until early 2005 a fast normal prime lens for an APS-C class DSLR meant either a 35mm f/2 or going into hock for a 35mm f/1.4.
