I need an external power source for my DP2s for doing time lapse videos. I would like to power the camera from a larger external battery. The specs for the AC Adapter SAC-3 adapter say that it provides 4.2 volts. This is not a convenient voltage since 4 nicad cells produce 4.8 volts and a single lithium cells is only 3 volts. Does anyone know what the safe upper voltage limit might be for the camera?
Hi Folks, would one of the older (and now inexpensive) DP2, 2s, or 2x models be a good way to experiment with the benefits of the foveon sensor for black and white work? I am returning to b&w more and more, and the Leica Monochrom is a bit (big bit) beyond the budget. My use: architecture, urban decay, urban, tripod-mounted when possible. Any suggestions on the Sigmas? Thanks! --The Kodachromeguy
I have a DP1 and DP2s (old non-Merrill models) and with my Metz 20 C-2 flash I can sync at 1/2000s. I've assumed this to be the same on the DP Merrills, but I haven't been able to find confirmation. Can anyone clarify this? --Shooting for fun and memories. My Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/christianhass/
I'm wondering, whether I could use this newly introduced RayFlash universal Ringflash adapter on the Sigma DP3M (possibly also DP1/2M, and also an old DP-series-cam), when supposedly using it in combination with the Sigma EF 610 DG Super flash. Would it also likely work on the SD1(M) when the new 18-35mm 1.8-lens is attached, in combination with that same EF 610 DG Super flash? I just haven't any clue whatsoever, which is why I'd happy, if someone here (or wherever really...) could tell me or...
Hi everyone, I'm mainly a Nikon (D300s) and film user (35mm and medium format).Since a few years I have looked at the beautiful images coming out of the Sigma DP series, but being an underpaid postgraduate student I have settled for what represented the best return of investment (that is, to carry a heavy DSLR everywhere like a psychopath) and invest money in manual lenses (that i can use with my D300s and my old film SLR).However, considering that many of you have upgraded to the new DP2M,...
Hi everybody,I'm considering the Sigma DP1 Merrill as a second camera for landscapes. First I'd like to thank you all for posting images here, especially the full-res ones - seeing these is certainly helps making my decision. I have used a DP2s briefly, a wonderful and inspiring camera. After doing some research, i still have some questions. 1. Purple fringing - can the Sigma raw software remove it?2. Long exposures: the DP2s had a rough time with hot pixels during long exposures. Has this...
