I wasn't too keen on the little rubber hood that came with the GW-3 wide angle adapter to begin with - but I've now managed to lose it anyway! Probably because of its poor design it simply fell off at some point when I removed the adapter. I don't see an official replacement for sale anywhere - but perhaps there is a better option anyway - perhaps a generic 62mm screw in petal hood? Does anyone on this forum know of a suitable solution? Obviously any third-party hood will need to remain...

Hi everyone, I wanted to bounce my thoughts off some people and see what I got back. I'm looking into buying a new camera in the 500-800 dollar range. I was looking at a new smartphone, but it finally hit me that I don't care enough, my current one is one of my least glitchy devices right now, and buying something new would only throw that away. So I repurposed the fund to a device I might actually get productive use out of. I'm looking to take entirely too many pictures for fun, just...

Greetings. Hoping for some guidance here. I purchased a new Ricoh GR at a camera shop in town (loving' this little rig), and it came with software version 1.11. I've attempted to update the firmware to version 4.0 several times to no avail (using a 2012 Mac Book Pro). I'm following the steps to a tee on the Ricoh website. I've got a charged battery and I've tried 3 different SD cards (all with 16 gig or more)...no dice. The new version is not showing on the "Confirm Firmware Version" screen...

Hi! I have been curious about the GR for quite a while now. Seems like the perfect substitute camera when i don't want to carry the dslr, but still get decent quality photos. Recently they also lowered the price for it in my area which makes it almost irresistible.  I don't have a good insight in Ricoh products and their upgrade-rate so my question is: Is it a good idea to buy it now or is there a new model on the way soon? would be grateful for some tips from the Ricoh-experts. :-)

Hi everyone! I have bought a RICOH GR just a month ago and I am a little worried about the front command dial because it feels too soft, a little loose and of bad quality. Does anyone feel the same? I am just wondering because I don't know if it is just of bad quality or might be defective. I kindly ask GR users your opinion about this, thank you!

Hi All, Wondering is the Ricoh GR able to operate/shoot while USB charging the battery? thinking to use the battery bank (for cellphone) to charge the camera while using the camera. Please advice. It will be handy when in few days hiking with no power point available, and still want to be ready for any photograph action/moment while charging.

I own a Ricoh GR and a DP2M. Love both of them, GR's IQ is very good, DP2M really is one step ahead. Now I'm selling one or two Olympus lenses, as I don't need them anymore - which gives me some money to "invest". Oddly enough I think about complementing the Ricoh GR with a DP1M (not replacing, as I'm well aware of the GR's advantages as a more versatile camera). Now my question: Does anybody own a Ricoh GR and the DP1M and says "Yes, go ahead, it's worth it."? Or are these just some...

Hi There, Switching between auto focus and snap focus is strangely convoluted as everything else seems so well thought out. I have snap focus assigned to the Fn1 button but when switching back to snap after focusing in auto, the camera requires no fewer than six button clicks (even more if you've adjusted the ISO) to use the snap distance you were previously using: - Fn1 (snap)- Adj lever- Select distance different to the one you want- OK- Adj lever- Select the distance you actually want-...

New to Ricoh GR. Amazing "little camera" which has replaced my OMD-EM5 with 12mm/2.0 as the wideangle camera choice. But one thing I can't get over is the "black/blank" screen after a shot has been taken while the buffer is being written to card, if the LCD confirmation is set to Off. It takes "a while" (or slight delay depending on your frame of reference) for the Live View to come back. Is this normal? Perhaps I've gotten used to the blazing speed of the EM5, or even the lesser PL5. On...

Hi all, I learned that GR can be picky on memory card to achieve best writing performance. Question: what memory card will not bottleneck GR's writing performance? I'm looking at below cards, are they overdo? SanDisk Extreme 32 GB SDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Flash Memory Card 45MB/s Sony 32GB SDHC/SDXC Class 10 UHS-1 R40
