Two questions in one, to save some space! The questions are in bold, as I write too much so you can skip to them easier! After a recent fall-through with obtaining an x20 for a cheap price (too good to be true basically!), I was looking at the x10 as a compromise. In a forum post someone mentioned the MX-1, and after reading reviews (and watching Blunty's fawning video) I've kinda fell in love.  My Main camera is an EM5 + 12-50mm, but it's not the right size to carry with me to work and out...

Primarily to photograph seals visible at some distance at the end of a hike, and perhaps other slow-moving wildlife, I've been looking for very small telephoto setup; both manual focus and relatively slow lenses could work for me. To start, I tried the simplest approach, a Panasonic ZS40 with a 700mm (in 35mm equiv) reach. The results were not great and the lens was not long enough.  It occurred to me that I might try a Pentax Q7, which has a larger sensor, a Pentax K converter, and a small...

I just got a Pentax Q7 and I just love it.  One question I have, though, is whether or not you use the Q7 flash extended, or if you sometimes choose to leave it in its original position.  The manual says there may be vignetting if you don't extend the flash.  Other than that - what would be the difference which would make you want to extend or not? A few days ago I wanted to  see how my Q/Q7 performs in a studio environment with remotely triggered flashes. I used a simple wireless remote trigger for this that fits on a standard hotshoe and has only one contact at the bottom - the big middle one. Curiously enough neither the Q nor the Q7 could trigger the flashes with the hotshoe remote device. I of course tested it with other cameras - it performed flawlessly on a K-01, K5-II and even on a small Panasonic LX3 - no problems there. I...

I was just having a look at my new Pentax Q7, and noticed that when I bring up the firmware version screen, it only shows the body firmware, and doesn't report the lens firmware at all - is this usual? I'm used to seeing the lens firmware reported also on the Q and Q10. I tried a couple of other lenses on it, and it was the same in all cases (all of them have the most up-to-date firmware already installed, if that has any effect on this).  I should add that it appears to be working OK. Thanks.

Hello,  Do the Q and Q7 cameras share the exterior? I'm wondering about size and placement of buttons, etc.  --All The Best,Joachimhttp://album.haagen.name/http://photo.haagen.name/http://haagen.name/privateimages/dpreview/profile.jpg

Does anyone know if this lens will be available at all as part of a Q7 kit?  I haven't seen it listed anywhere and the lens itself seems to be gone from all the Canadian retailer sites I have checked. Is the lens any good?  It would seem like a good combo with the upcoming Q7 but I don't know why it seems to have disappeared.  I couldn't even find a listing for it on the B&H site. Any ideas? --Sam'Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it... albeit probably in colour the...
