From the Pentax support web site, I selected the most recent firmware update, labeled 1.13. I downloaded and installed it without incident. But when I checked my firmware version, (It had been 1.0) it said 1.12! Upon checking further, I found that the Pentax web site downloads a Zip file named q_v112.zip even though I am on the page for the latest 1.13. Has anyone else seen this? I can't find a place on the support web site to ask Ricoh/Pentax what's going on.
Some folks in my local area are apparently not happy with their Q's, as I've seen two on Craigslist for $150 recently. This is with the 02 lens. Looking for a P&S replacement for my wife. This camera looks neat and expandable beyond what a typical P&S can do. Hard part might be the length of the 02 lens in her bag. Much of the criticism of this camera was because it didn't match its price tag. However, does a $150 price point turn the tables a bit? Should I jump on this?
Pretty much all the reviews that slammed this camera complained about the inferior sensor for the high price point; since it has significantly depreciated in value, I am sure it is worth the low $260-something new. However, I'm not quite sure it's what I'm looking for. I would love some insight from owners! I like its compact form factor, and recognize that its sensor is lacking compared to Micro 4/3rds sensors. Personally, I would like it as an alternative to my DSLR; something to use when...
Received the K to Q adapter, got a couple of test shots off With no issues. But now I only get a black/static LCD screen when it's attached. Same with with both an FA and DA lens. Q lenses work just fine. Anyone experience this? Any suggestions on a fix? I powered down, detached and started over with no luck. Thanks for any ideas.
Hi,I currently have Canon Powershot G11, and I'm thinking about switching to a Pentax Q, since I do like the idea of having interchangable lenses, but don't want to carry a big DSLR everywhere. Now is the switch of a G11 to a Pentax Q a good one? I've read in the specs that the sensor is smaller, doesn't this give more noise to the picture? And what about the lenses? I see there are 'only' 5 lenses available, but is it also possible to use adapters to mount other lenses?I want to use the...
