I took this photograph last week with my 7D and 100-400L at 400mm.  The leopard was about 90/100 meters away and my settings were ISO 1 600, 1/250 and f7.1.  I used my 600EX-RT Speedlight which gave the highlight in the eyes, even at that distance.  The shots without the flash were duller.  I rested the lens on a bean bag and the car was switched off so there was no engine vibration.  It was about 45 minutes before sunset so it was getting dark and the leopard was in the shade.  This is a...

I recently bought a Soligor 28 - 200 manual  zoom lens with a Pentax mount at a swap meet. However, it won't mount on to my Pentax K200D or my Kr cameras. Do I need to buy a adapter in order to use it? The lens looks brand new and is quite solidly built. Any advice???

I'll be staying at one of the private reserves in the Sabi Sand area next to/part of the Kruger National Park and am looking for some advice on what equipment I should invest in. I currently have a Panasonic GX1 m4/3 camera with a 20mm prime lens and a 14-140mm zoom lens.  I will also be bringing a Canon S90 with me.  Some items that I've been suggested to invest in are: a Panasonic 100-300mm lens which I may not have much use for after the trip a Panasonic 45mm macro lens which I will most...

I am unsure what the difference is in the sensor between these 2 camcorders. The G20 has a "pro" series 1/3" CMOS sensor, whilst this does not appear to be the case with the XA10. Can someone please help me here.   I currently have a Legria HF s20 and mostly shoot school sports and when visiting game parks (mainly Kruger).   From a video quality point of view would there be any benefit in upgrading to one of the above? The upcoming G30 would be great for Kruger park (20x zoom), so would also...

Hi, I am a marine photographer working on Whale Shark tour boats. I sell a photo cd to the customers on board the boat of their Whale Shark tour. The images they get are for web (900x600 pixels @ 72dpi). For this they happily pay $60 AUD. I then organise canvas printing for clients who want specific prints however I have had some requests for the photo file so they can print themselves... I have no idea what to charge for this? If anyone is in the game of selling high res photo files, any...

I am just learning about photography and video so still a novice in this arena.  I bought a budget camera during the past holiday a Nikon Coolpix L310 and been trying it out in taking pictures and videos.  What is some good steps I can take in learning about the basics of photography and making videos?  I have been learning some stuff through friends and looking online at info but wanted to get your ideas as well.  Also I am guessing its the lighting in my house but when I take indoor photos...

Hi, I keep having issues while working in Photoshop on my MacBook. It says that my startup drive is full and my scratch disks are full. I do not store anything on the computer itself-just on an external hard drive and I have no idea why my disk is full. It has gotten to where I can not work in layers at all. Any advice? I will be traveling to Kruger National Park (South Africa) later this year (wildlife, landscapes, etc.).  I'm thinking of either buying a new Tamron 70-300 VC, or renting a Canon 70-300L or a 100-400L (both with IS) for the trip.  Not interested in buying an expensive ($1K+) telephoto lens since I seldom otherwise use the long focal lengths (almost always use my Tamron 17-50).  Any opinions or alternative suggestions? My current status: Camera: Canon Rebel XTi (unlikely to change) Lens: Canon...
