A little while ago I was using the rear screen in the extended position when the screen flickered, then banded with dark lines, then went out. Now when I try to use it, it will power up, back lighting and all, but will not display anything. No photos, menu information, nothing. I looked up some information on replacing screens, but I don't think the symptoms indicated a bad screen, maybe just a connector. I have a shoot next week in North China so I really don't want to mess around getting it...

Does anybody know about the camera equipment on the New Horizons space probe? How did they manage to get images in focus? It may be a stupid question, but sometimes it is easy to miss focus even here on earth :). And near Pluto, you need high aperture value and I assume incredible short shutter speeds and don t have sufficient light. Not exactly a wedding job.

Hello folks! I own a KM 17-35D as my common UWA and I'm thinking to take a Minolta 24 2.8 RS for landscape and interior uses. I'm sure that some if not many of you had the opportunity to "play" with both and so, in a word, does it worth the extra bucks or I should not expect much better results with the M24 2.8 than I can get with the KM 17-35 at 24mm? Assuming that it's not for the gain on the apperture as I shot mostly at f8-f11. Thank you all :)

I debated about whether to post this in the Sony or KM forum, in the end I decided on the Sony forum because I suspect I'd have more chance of finding the right answer here. I want to set up a cheapo studio at home for photographing items for our small business. Nothing too fancy or expensive, but there are a couple of pitfalls I don't want to fall in to. I'm currently (still) using my KM 7D body, and that will continue to be used for the time being. At some point I am sure that I will...

I am a K-30 and K-M user and am thinking of upgrading. The K-S2 seems to be a feasible choice but the current price of the K-5 iis is quite attractive compared to the K-S2. I've heard that the K-5 IIs has better sharpness than the K-30 due to the lacking of the low pass filter. Also high ISO performance is better as well. I've held the K-5 original before and have to say the overall construction of the body is way better than the K-30, but heavier as well. The K-S2 obviously has all the...

Could I have some tripod/head recommendations from the forum regarding what is sturdy enough for 2kg camera + lens  and at the same time light enough to carry a 1000 yards (0.9 km) or so? It also has to be tall enough to bring the camera to my eye level (6ft) - this lens requires careful focusing. The problem I'm trying to solve is rotational vibration in my current setup. The tripod is a bit light for this camera and lens as it is rated at 11lbs but ball head is rated for 40lbs and should be...

A few months ago I bought the A6000 with a few primes to replace my old KM7D, and I was going to sell my A-mount lenses but never really got around doing it. Among these is the Sigma 50-150mm F2.8 (old version), which I loved on the 7D and knew I was going to miss. So recently I was doing both some video and photo shooting at an event at work using the A6000 for video and the 7D for photos, and shooting with the Sigma made me reconsider selling it and maybe getting the LA-EA4 instead to use...

In the 1990s, I inherited a Pentax P-3 Film SLR with an assortment of lenses.  (ALL Manual-Focus) -One is an Asahi Super Takumar 20mm "fisheye" -One is a pretty long, but slow Tokina -One is a mid-range Tamron -I also have a Doubler and a K-Mount-to-Pentax Threaded Adapter Insert Q1.  What are the odds that any of this stuff would prove useful with my X-T1 if I could find a suitable adapter? Q2.  Can anybody recommend a good adapter that should work?  Preferably, something solid but...

Hi, my name is Luca, it is the first time I write to this forum, but I've been reading it for a while. I just got an X-T1 with the XF18-135. It is my first experience with a serious camera, previously I had a Panasonix LX5. Yesterday night I was taking pictures of some houses, 1 Km far from my place, using a tripod and without OIS, fully extended to 135mm. I selected manual focus and fine-tuned it looking at the lights. The first picture was in focus, but the second one was blurred. After a...
