This sort of relates to a previous question. I'm looking for a "sharp" affordable 50mm for my K-5lls camera. It would be used mostly on a tripod and for still life's some portraits and taking photos for other's Art for submission to contests. KEH has the following: 50mm f2 SMC A K manual at (ex+) $59.00, 50mm f1.8 SMC D A K Auto (ex+) $115.00 and 50mm f1.7 SMC D A K manual (ex+) $89.00. I am a K-30 and K-M user and am thinking of upgrading. The K-S2 seems to be a feasible choice but the current price of the K-5 iis is quite attractive compared to the K-S2. I've heard that the K-5 IIs has better sharpness than the K-30 due to the lacking of the low pass filter. Also high ISO performance is better as well. I've held the K-5 original before and have to say the overall construction of the body is way better than the K-30, but heavier as well. The K-S2 obviously has all the...

How can you not have the viewfinder info showing in the viewfinder when shutter set to X for studio photography? It is very distracting to have the underexposure showing and flashing as if one is using the M mode. I have gone through the menu over and over. Any remedy for this?

I have the FA 50 f/1.4 and K5IIs and plan to stick with APC. I could sell the FA 50 and purchase a DA 50 f/1.8. Would the DA 50 f/1.8 be better?  Is the DA sharper edge to edge? Bernie

Hi all I'm a newby to the site As looking to add a full frame Nikon/Sony in addition to my K5, have come across Richmond Cameras on eBay UK. Prices seem to be extremely competitive and following the old adage " if it sounds too good to be true"....... but they have good feedback and seem to have warranties for new equipment. Has anyone had previous dealings with them ? Would be grateful for any feedback. Many thanks.

Hi! I'm not a professional photographer and till now I'm using Olympus gears. I would like to upgrade my gear buying a pro or semi-pro gear what can give me professional results. I'm interested in Sony or Pentax because they are sensor shift stabilised and that's good for me because I like using old fast prime lenses. But I'm quite confused. I like shooting portrait, landscapes and architecture, indoor and outdoor. First I was interested in Pentax K-5 but after I looked at Pentax K-50 and I...

I have been looking at getting into photography for a while now. Since having my two sons and seeing my wife and grandma miss out on a lot of really great photos with regular PS cameras or their phones I am ready to take the plunge into uncharted territory. I'm sure you have all been asked a gazillion times about which one to choose and I know it's going to come down to what I mainly want to take photos of. With that being said I would mainly be taking photos of my family, wildlife around the...

I googled without much luck so I am sorry if this has been covered. Optically, does the Pentax outperform the older generation of TCs? Is it enough to justify the price? I know it is weather sealed (nice plus) but it also handles AF and aperture conversion better, correct? I ask as some of the older generation TCs can be had for a real bargain right now. --https://www.Greinerstudio.com---Pentax K5Sigma 8-16 f/4.5-5.6 DC HSMPentax SMCP-DA 40 f/2.8 ED Limited EditionPentax D-FA 100 f/2.8...

Folks, K-5 owner here.  How can I setup my camera to capture 5 exposures using 'drive mode' AND keep the aperature the same for all shots? It looks to me like this can't be done.  If I set to "M", both F-stop and shutter speed are varied to achieve the set EV between exposures.  If I set to Aperature Priority mode looks like I get constant F-stop as I desire but I lose control over the starting point - i.e. can't set initial shutter speed....that's what I want to do. What am I missing...

Hi, I am thinking of changing out my standard zoom.  I have the Sigma 24-70mm HSM which is a quality lens but it is so heavy, 790g. It can occasionally have a wobble on its anti-shake performance too. I had it checked out and there is nothing wrong with the lens. I would like to get something a bit lighter and with a wider angle than 24mm.  The 16-85mm WR would do this well and looks on paper to be a better lens than the other possible. that is the 18-135mm WR. Both of these are less than...
