I have an old Sears 80-200 zoom that I used to use with my Sears KSX slr back in the 80's.After mounting it on the K-30, it prompts for a mm. Do I enter 200 or 80? Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Hi! I am a beginner in the digital photography field but I am interested in using a digital SLR camera that is just a notch below that of a professional. I have a question pertaining to the camera in the Subject Field above, I hope somebody knows the answer to it. Here is the question: In low-light conditions and not using a flash, at what ISO number does this camera begin to manifest noise in its photos? Please respond.

Yeah I have been reading the posts about ISOless sensors in a couple of the other forums, but you sure have to put up with a lot of bickering to find the helpful posts. If you want to post about ISOless in general please go over to the Open Talk forum. I am looking for practical information that pertains to using the K30, but feel free to include other Pentax DSLRs. I have downloaded RAW Therapee and am learning to use it to process RAW photos if and when necessary. Tim

Could those of you out there who own Pentax DSLRs (notably the K5 series and the K30) if these cameras are assembled in Japan ? --Dave

I have been reading through this forum and trying to get a grasp on the Pentax cameras.  I was recently shopping for a new DSLR, I was a Canon guy that transitioned to m4/3.  That format doesn't seem to be right for me.  I have tried, but the same reasons that drove me to it, are driving me away from it.  Anyways, I happened upon the Pentax K-30.  The specs seem great, and the look of it is also very nice.  I see that there are plenty of lenses, at least for me.  So onto the questions. 1....

Hi, im on the search for my first dslr system and i'm in a common dilemma which one to choose. I ended up in those 3 cameras , Nikon D90 (the oldest of all), Pentax K-30 (the one im considering most of the 3 to buy) and Canon T3i. I understand that for a beginner like me it doesnt really matter which im gonna choose because all of them are great cameras to start with. The price is also reallly close. D90 is an old camera but really capable even in 2013 and its the best on my hand. I really...

Hello, I have purchased a Samyang 14mm f2.8 with a K-30. Will I not be able to use shake reduction because there is no option for 14mm in the focal length input thing? Or could I just set it to 15mm instead? Does it need to be the exact same focal length as the lens or just close to it? Thanks, Albert

Hi all, I can't even be considered a beginner yet - I haven't moved beyond the point and shoot but am always frustrated at the limitations my camera has. So I'm now deciding which camera to buy. I went out and looked at the Pentax K30 today with a 17-70mm f2.8 - 4.5 lens. They then showed me another lense that went to 200mm and the confusion began. Would the 70mm be limiting etc. I use my camera for a bit of everything, we travel a bit and I was so disapointed by most of my photos from the...

When viewing a photo is there an amount of magnification that is more or less the same as a 100% crop?
