Hi, all, Probably I should just resign myself to staying on the line with customer service for a couple hours, but: I've had my K-30 since last November, and since I was enjoying it so much as it was, I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't bother to check the manual and see why my shake reduction wasn't on--until this past week. I was sure it was some little thing that I needed to correct. But now I've read the manual, and every instruction I try to follow leaves me with the same problem: the...
I promise, I did a LOT of reading of forum posts on this. But, it didn't help much. All I want to know is: Has anyone removed the Ricoh pin from a Sorry, Vivitar 2X Macro TC? I'm talking about the one with A contacts. (Although I suppose only A-mount types have the Ricoh pin; I've never seen one on the K-mount version.) Maybe, as a corollary, I'd like to ask: Does anyone own the Vivitar 2X Macro TC w/ Ricoh pin, and use it with no problems on their Pentax? I have a bit of experience with...
My K30 is exhibiting some frustrating behavior. In all exposure and metering modes at 0.00ev and a single center focal point, I have been getting wildly different exposures shooting the same scene. Here are some test shots converted in LR 5 at standard defaults using the DA 70 2.4, but all my lenses are doing this: 1/250, f/2.4 ISO200 1/125, f/2.4, ISO100 Also: 1/400, f/2.4, ISO 200 1/160, f/2.4, ISO 100 1/400, f2.4, ISO 100 and, using live-view: 1/10, f/2.4, ISO 100 It's all over...
Hi, Yes, I know the K30 has 100% VF coverage. However, I wear glasses and have to stick my face 1 nose on the LCDto be able to take advantage of it. I tried my Pentax 1.2X magnifier but the clearance with the LCD screen is not that much better. Can anyone recommend ( or post a link ) to some 3rd party alternatives that you may use if you are in the same situation? Thank you!
Hi all. I have a K30 with a Sigma 18 - 200 kit lens that I took to Nepal last year, being a total amateur I was happy with most of my photos. I'm going to Southern Africa at the end of this year & am looking at buying a longer zoom lens, but my budget will be tight, so I'm looking at up to 300mm lenses. Ebay stores have a new PENTAX SMC DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 at AUD $ 365 delivered (I'm Australian), or a Sigma APO DG 70 - 300mm f/4-5.6 (second hand) at about $115 delivered. I guess my question...
Hi! I am a beginner in the digital photography field but I am interested in using a digital SLR camera that is just a notch below that of a professional. I have a question pertaining to the camera in the Subject Field above, I hope somebody knows the answer to it. Here is the question: In low-light conditions and not using a flash, at what ISO number does this camera begin to manifest noise in its photos? Please respond.
Yeah I have been reading the posts about ISOless sensors in a couple of the other forums, but you sure have to put up with a lot of bickering to find the helpful posts. If you want to post about ISOless in general please go over to the Open Talk forum. I am looking for practical information that pertains to using the K30, but feel free to include other Pentax DSLRs. I have downloaded RAW Therapee and am learning to use it to process RAW photos if and when necessary. Tim
