Surely the K-30 has more than one Aspect Ratio available? I just noticed the LCD image does not fill the area. There are bars at the top and bottom. I have searched the Menus and Manual with no results that I can find. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I really like my camera. Thanks...Dan Christian Amateur PhotographerChoose life's involvements carefully with an eye toward eternity.
Three things I don't understand for the K-30: 1. Focus peaking 2. How to AF Fine Adjustment: I can follow the instructions in the manual. What I do not understand is, that there is no mention of using the lens of choice while making the adjustment. 3. How to effectively check for front or back focus. How to set this up. Any help with these things will be appreciated very much....Dan --Christian Amateur PhotographerChoose life's involvements carefully with an eye toward eternity.
I'm looking to buy a Good Portrait lens for my Pentax K30. I already have a 50mm fixed the 18-55 kit and a 50-200mm telephoto. I'm on a budget and several well meaning photographers have already told me about the 18-135mm 17-70mm and the 55-300mm. I have been given the fixed prime is the better way to go opinion too. I'm totally confused now. I love the idea of a zoom but sharp crisp images are the most important. Please help!! Like I said I'm on a budget so I need a sharp lens at a decent...
I have a question about something I have noticed over several years and several Pentax cameras: Sometimes, when I take consecutive pictures, it appears that the white balance or something else color-related changes between each picture. Here are two examples: The two pictures are taken less than a second apart. Both pictures are manually set exactly the same: F/2.8, 1/400, ISO 3200, manual white balance. No auto anything. Even the focus is manual. As you can see, the first picture appears...
The image below is straight out of my K-30 except for straightening it using the DA 18-55 WR kit lens. Please judge if this lens is performing as it should. Mostly interested in sharpness/resolution, but other considerations are also important. This image responded very nicely to post processing. Would the 18-135mm WR or the 16-85mm WR really be much better? Thanks, Dan --Christian Amateur PhotographerChoose life's involvements carefully with an eye toward eternity.
Is it harmful to the camera lens for the camera to sit on it ? Some cases including holster types cause the camera to rest on it's lens. I have a Pentax K-30 with the 18-55mm WR lens. Seems that the everyday up-down and side to side movement of the case while walking would cause harm to the lens. I am sure there are those that have always done this without harm. I am interested in those persons comments, but especially those presenting evidence of the potential harm or lack of it to my lens....
Does anyone have a white K-50 or K-30? I just bought a K-3 and was planning to keep my K-x as a second body. But since I needed a couple of WR lenses for rainy-day shooting, I think I've decided to sell the K-x and just get the WR lenses in a kit with the K-50. Comes out to be about the same net cost, and I get a new camera for the backup. Anyway, I really like the looks of the white K-50, and that kit is only $20 more than the black. But I have two questions first: Does the white part of...
Hello all, I'm a wildlife researcher working in Madagascar and I'm going over for my second field season in a month. I currently have a Pentax K30 camera and three lenses: A Pentax DA 300mm f/4 for lemur shots A Tamron 90mm f/2.8 for macro shots (insects and herps) A (little-used) Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 for landscape shots I'm pretty sure that I can do rather well with this set-up, but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for lenses. I do think I want to focus more on...
