I have the K-3 and love it.  I have taken 4256 pictures with it. Last night I lost use of the four buttons around the  central OK button, can't set white balance or flash or high speed shooting, nothing comes up on the screen but everything else works fine. Any ideas?  It is still under warranty, if I have to send it in for service, which is the best place. Thanks for any answers or suggestions.

I am having trouble with blown-out white areas when I shoot in bright daylight. Would a CPL filter help, and if so what do you recommend? I have heard that B+W and Hoya are good brands. Would it also help if I purchased a third party lens hood or made a scratch built hood? My current lens hood is too short to block much sunlight. Also is it possible to recover blown out areas of the photos by editing the RAW images? Thank you!

Hi all, I am still going through my honeymoon period with my K3 which involves panicking at every little weird hiccup. I am suddenly noticing, when I shoot, I am hearing a very quiet beep immediately after the shutter fires. It isn't a sound effect but more like something the camera is doing in the processing of the image I never heard this on any of my old Pentaxs (K5ii, K5, K20, K10, istD). Is this normal? All sound effects are turned off and it happens with any lens and with memory cards...

Just curious as what difference I would see between a K-3 and a 645Z taken with comparable lens' and framed to the same crop? EDIT: for instance 645Z with 50mm and K-3 with 35mm. I am not a technical guy with respect to cameras & lenses and have just purchased a K-3 with the 18-135mm WR lens, and 55-300mm WR lens with a Pentax 1.4x TC and a Polaroid brand 500D close-up lens (similar to Canon 500D?). I am doing some "desktop experimenting" and have some questions. Probably 80% or more of my photography will be nature/wildlife oriented and done on hiking trails or from a kayak. While there will be a lot of landscape-type scenic images, a great many images will be either...

I am not a technical guy with respect to camera & lens equipment, and have just purchased a K-3 with the 18-135mm WR & 55-300mm WR lenses & a 1.4x TC. I am doing some "desktop experimenting" with these and a Polaroid 500D close-up lens, and find that the listed spec for minimum focusing distance on the 18-135mm is shown at .4m or ~16". I get a min. distance of ~7.5" at 18mm, and ~9.5" at 135mm with the bare lens. What am I missing? Thanks. CraigK

i have my camera set to record both RAW and JPEG. the RAW files look real good but the JPEGS have issues such as the color being off. also many of the JPEGs look like they have white balance issues, though the corresponding RAW picture looks good. I've experimented with various white balance settings to no avail. am i missing a setting(s) some where or do I just have some setting(s) wrong? Thanks!

Hi, I'm running OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion) on a early 2008 MacBook Pro (4,1). I'm using Aperture 3.4.5 with Digital Camera Raw 5.04 - Build 736.3. As I go through my photos, loading my photos (I usually load them one at a time, because I'm working on 24 MP / 30+ MB Raw files on my old/slow Mac) I *occasionally* get hit with the dreaded "Unsupported Image Format." Most of the time it doesn't happen. Once it happens though, the photo is gone - and I don't know how to get it back. I can still...

I have been reading on the K-3 and 6D for general family photography, soccer games, and vacations, etc.  A friend who does film and photography recommended a refurbished Canon 6D with zoom 28-135mm and 70-300mm - which can be had for around $2k.  It is full frame, does great video/photos, and proven by being out for a while.  However, it feels big, it is a couple years old, and shoots 4.5 fps. The Pentax K-3 seems really impressive to me as I have read many reviews on it.  I can get the body...

Hi everyone,Afraid I'm seeking the usual noobie help-me-decide-which-camera shopping advice. Hope you guys don't mind entertaining one more such request.I've been getting into photography over the past year using a borrowed D5100 with 18-105. I'm now interested in investing in my own gear, but am divided over where to put my hard-earned money. Although they're both weather sealed, I'm torn between the Pentax K-3 for it's battle-ready build, and the Fuji X-T1 for its apparently wonderful...
