Having graduated from the *ist-D to the K10-D and in January of last year to the K20-D comparing the quality, features and durability of the Pentax to the other brands. The K20-D is by far the best value, and with the most quality over any of the competition. Nikon's D 90 is a poor example of quality, with no weather seals, no sensor image stabilizer. You have to buy it in every lens and many lenses not available with IS. For the cost of the two cameras. The Pentax has it all over Nikon, ...

I have both a K10D and now K20D. I was swayed in particular by the much improved high ISO performance. I can now risk approx ISO 2000 compared to ISO 800 on K10D so this is a huge improvement. The shutter sound is also vastly improved. I am unsure on the accuracy of focus on this compared to my K10D but that's a qa issue. I also find the liveview useful for manual focus. Okay it has its weaknesses as pointed out by others but it definitely can be regarded as a plus point. AF speed is improved ...

Upgraded from *ist-D and, although it was an enjoyable camera, the K20D body seems to have improvements in all of the areas that were annoying/weak previously. Seemingly, the out of the camera shots are far superior than those from the *istD and the automatic settings are more reliable. Only regret, waiting so long to upgrade. Problems: None to speak of

I've had my K20D for about 6 months now and it outdoes the K10D on every count, because it looks much the same, people think it's a mere upgrade, it's actually much more, it's such a large leap forward in so many areas it's not funny! Having come from a K10D and istD before, the K20D is almost everything I was looking for. If I'm truthful, I'd really like a swivel LCD with much better live view, but it's no deal breaker. At the current pricing, even after all the price hikes going on in the ...

Just bought the K20D specifically for color photography. Old fogey will need help from others to master this, but know my way around manual exposure from using ME-Super Program, K-1000, and Mamiya 645 for 25+years. This camera has awesome resolution and features galore. Love the fact that I can use some of my older Pentax A lenses.(Have always adored the crisp Asahi/Pentax optics) Really appreciate the dust removal and the anti-shake function, although, use of a tripod and cable release are ...

A great upgrade from my k10d and an incredible value at the current price (700 us). Problems: hot pixels in very long exposures (to be expected)

very good high iso images, shake reduction helps a lot. great colors, lots of detail. adjustable lens calibration gets the most out of the glass you have. weather sealing adds a level of confidence to be out shooting whenever and where ever. very customizable controls and controls that feel natural to use. long battery life. color adjustable lcd so you can make sure the colors you see are the same colors you'll get on your monitor at home.

I waited a long time to purchase a DSLR clinging to my Pentax MX which I love. I over purchased by buying the K20D. I probably will never use all the features it comes with. I stayed with Pentax since I have an investment with lenses for my MX. This camera is amazing. The quality of construction is impressive. Before purchasing I compared the Pentax to other cameras. Other cameras looks and feels like a piece of plastic junk next to my K20D. Images are amazing. Pentax does it right. They ...
