I just received a brand new waterproof O-RC1 remote for my Pentax cameras - but, unfortunately, it seems to be dead on arrival. I tried it with both my K20D and my Q - both set to remote controlled shutter release mode, of course - but without success. I guess I need a replacement or do you know of an activation process for the remote. My last cheapo one worked out of the box. Thanks for your help. --JanMy photos:http://www.flickr.com/photos/rosember/http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/

My Vivitar Series 1 1.4x TC was waiting in the mailbox when I came in this evening. I was playing around with it, but I noticed that it was reporting the full aperture of the lens. As in, I could still get f/1.4 on my FA 50, even though it should only be f/2. It says the focal length is 50mm as well. Perhaps that's why the instructions say to turn off SR. I haven't had time to play with it in decent light to see if it's underexposing The body is a K20d. Is this normal? P.S. - I didn't buy it...

Hi again... :-), In my experience the K01 decides what to focus on, in a variable way. Is this normal and is there a setting to use a fixed focus point in auto/green mode ? In Av or Tv or other modes i can choose what kind of focus point and it's even possible to place the focus point, fixed, off-centre on the display etc.. But ... NOT in AUTO/GREEN mode, in my experience, or.... am i overlooking something ???? Please advise and thanks in advance. --;-) rgrds. Henk (K-01, K20D&DBG-2,...

Hi everybody, When i put my K01 in Av mode, with AF/s, and i move the cam i hear, at about every move, a klicking-like sound. In finding out how come i looked into the lens and think i saw the diaphragma opening and closing every time i point and something else. This is done automatically by the cam: i'm leaving all buttons free. Is this a standard 'thing' or else ? Hope somebody here knows the answer and thanks in advance. :-) --;-) rgrds. Is it any bigger or brighter?  Does it have a longer eye relief for eye glass wearers than the K20D?   --'I got a Pentax camera. I love to take a photograph, so mama don't take my Photoshop away.'

What is your recent experience with Pentax USA repair?  The knob to switch from auto-focus to manual focus broke into pieces today.  Was it expensive?  Was it a good experience?  Was the turn around resonable?  Should I consider any one else to effect the repair? Thanks, Harold --'I got a Pentax camera. I love to take a photograph, and momma done took my Kodchrome away!'

Hi guys,My almost 5 year old K20D used to nail AF for most shots back in the day, if something was out of focus it almost always could be attributed to user error. But lately I think it has begun to behave erratically, sometimes AF works fine, sometimes it back focus by large amounts with same lens, even though using 1 point AF with contrasty subject in the middle of screen. It happens more often with some lenses (DA35Ltd), but I have seen it with other as well. So, I am just curious, can AF...

As the price of the oryginal K5 (not II) became very attractive in my country, I consider the upgrade from my current K20D, which I like and which performs very well. I know about handling, IQ, high ISO performance, but I'd like to ask you about the AF. K20D is OK, I can't complain, but I'd like to know, how it looks in K5, comparing to K20D. According to the tests it's better, but I'd like to ask users of both, what is the difference in terms of speed and accurace, in good and low...

Anybody made this switch? Is AF speed and tracking a lot better? Higher ISO seems like a huge jump. Have been thinking of moving to K5 but Sony offerings have me intrigued. Have been shooting memories of family and friends mostly. Enjoy my K20d but do seem to miss several shots due to AF IMO.

Anybody made this switch? Is the difference in AF speed and tracking noticeable? Was thinking of K5 upgrade but Sony offerings have my interest as of now. Thanks!
