I went from the ist*DL to this one. IQ is excellent, and on ISP100/200 there is hardly any difference detectable between raw and jpeg. For travelling, the ability to use AA batteries is a huge bonus over proprietary LIPO batteries and their silly chargers, and non-rechargeable lithiums last for a very long time. Problems: No problems at all. I wish it was a bit smaller and lighter - it is about 1/4" bigger all round over the *DL.

I like the heavy and sealed construction. In built shake reduction, the top LCD and the possibility to mount old K-lenses in this class convinced me after all. Jpeg IQ could be better, ISO 800 and 1600 show a structurelike noise when shooting standard. I turned down the sharpness 2 steps. Shooting in Raw (DNG) provides really excellent pictures. I miss the feature to combine self-timer and bracketing, ISO-Button would have been great, but Sv-mode and FN-Button makes up for it. Problems: Using ...

I have had this camera for 3 months. I had bought one earlier, butit died on me and I had to return it. The replacement seems fine though. I am coming from a K100D and so far this camera is good. It feels more solid, the focus seems a bit more sure, and its just overall a better camera........ except for the noise. Problems: The reason I gave image quality a score of 4 is because of noise from ISO 600 and up. This is a problem that I never had big issues with with the K100D. I could go upto ...

Bought as a back up for K20D's & for street photography as it is not as intimidating to subjects. The build quality appears seems excelent ( just feels solid) The weather sealing is a bonus as I mostly work in a marine enviroment. It has become my personal camera with a screw mount Super-Takumar 1.4 50mm lense. Yes manual focus & I'm a 60 year old :) Problems: None to date & based on K20 don't expect any

I moved up to the K200d from the ist DL and have no regrets. It is a solid camera and enough features and versatility to meet the needs of all but the most demanding pros. The K20d doesn't offer enough extra features to justify it's extra cost for me. I can do most anything I need to do with this outfit, and am very pleased with the results. Problems: It would be nice to have the lcd on top lighted, but not a biggie, and a second control wheel. These are on the K20D but at another 5-600 ...

First of all, this camera is REALLY worth every cent. I bought it with the 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 and the 50-200 f/4-5.6 kit lenses for 699€ and I'm more than satisfied. A nice, small and good camera, a good choice for both beginners and advanced users. Great image quality even with the kit lenses, fast AF and even good for macros. What made me choose the K200D instead of the Nikon D80 was the water and dust protection, integrated shake reduction, many different settings for fast pictures and ...

I have shot over 3,800 pictures with the Pentax K200D so far, for both love and profession. The K200D is the Working Photographer's Tool, whose design approach is fidelity to reality as efficiently as possible with the current blend of technology. For its class you're looking at the best-bang-for-the-buck package. Even its kit lens is the most satisfactory of any I've played with so far, even Nikon. Its ISO 800 performance is impressive, and even more-so if you've a fine RAW workflow with ...

The best entry level DSLR. Shake Reduction, weather sealing, exceptional image quality... Problems: A bit slow frame rate but adequate for 95% of users

I find this Camera a bit slow. I have tested this camera by local dealer, and I find it a bit slow. Specifications exept continuos shoting are great. Does anyone else have filing, that the camera is slow or I didnt read the manuals good. I stil havent decided what to buy. Problems: Camera is slow.

I've been using k200d for 2 weeks and consider myself a happy camper. This is excellent camera, especially considering the price. IMO, very good for beginners, but advanced users will appreciate it, too. Problems: Lacks some features in comparison with k20D but the price difference of $500 compensates it very well.
