i've had my k100d for about 6 weeks now, and like it very much, the pictures look so much better than my fuji f30 (which i like very much too). this is my first digital slr, i was thinking that i wouldn't much like the post processing or more complex shooting side, but i must say i prefer pp, as it means i can concentrate on getting the shot when i'm taking photos. it's a tough camera, hanging around my neck, i accidentally swung it into a rock wall, barely scratched the body, and didn't ...

My first DSLR camera and it's greate for your first DSLR. Good pictures, body, LCD and Viewfinder. I love it. Used an Praktica MTL and LTL + M42 lenses. With the M42 Pentax adapter the M42 lenser work good and make very good pictures. From Slovenia ! Problems: No yet :)

Though relatively large the camera is comfortable to hold and the controls are easy to access. Purchased as a two-lens kit; the included lenses 18-55 and 50-200) are very good. Image stabilizer works well. Picture quality is excellent, very fine detail as expected in SLR with large sensor. ISO 3200 does get a bit grainy (colour noise I guess) but it is acceptable for my purposes. White balance is flexible, but auto setting does not cover incandescent light, presumably to give full control ...

I upgraded from an *istDL and have been tremendously happy - I've shot about 10,000 pictures in the space of 6 months. It produces outstanding results in the right hands, punchy colour, low noise, etc. etc. There really is nothing to complain about other than a general difficulty in sourcing new Pentax lenses but that is probably *because* of how good the current bodies are. I gave it a 4.0 on the build quality as I think the battery door is a little on the flimsy side and the handgrip can ...

Since marketing divisions of “big guys” forced all keen amateurs to jump in to DSLR bandwagon, we all started looking in to “lesser evil” and the best alternative to so-called point-and-shoot digicams. As far as my concern, the very concept of looking in to viewfinder in digital era is plain wrong and as stupid as hell, but, hey... They want and make you buying those lenses while earning megabucks on it and convincing everybody that it's leading edge technology... Yah, right... Some brands ...

I've had this camera for 7 months and based on my regular usage it has proved to be an excellent performer. Bought it with the Pentax 16-45 DA f/4 lens, a very powerful combination, I think.[I have other Pentax lenses] I have produced/printed a number of 18" x 12" images, some at the ISO setting of 3200 and have been duly impressed in all instances. The camera is fun to use and is capable of producing beaufiful images of great clarity and contrast. Highly recommended. Problems: None

The Pentax K100D camera is my first digital SLR. It was a no-brainer for me, because I have a lot of beautiful m42 screw mount lenses. It is a fast camera with awesome battery life on a pair of crv3's. It also takes stunning pictures with the Pentax AF-360FGZ flash unit. Excellent build quality, with a strong grip, but still small. Good balance overall. Problems: Aperture ring on lenses such as the FA or A line for example are useless; Really IRRITATING! Defeats the purpose of doing aperture ...

This is my first DSLR. I have a long experience with film SLR, P&S and bridge digital cameras. I chose K100D 3 months ago over Nikon D50 mainly due to the SR and compatibility with old lenses. No regrets! Excellent camera; 6 MP is enough for me. What I like: - excellent picture quality with nice colours and “film like” textures - SR works fine: consistent 2 stops, "high probability" of sharp images till 3 stops. - good AF: precise and with 11 points (big help for critical focus images); fast ...

I recently purchased this camera from Ebay for £315 delivered. i was keen on this camera as I have a few Pentax film cameras and lenses. I was surprised a week later with a long city break to Rome for 4 days so didn't have a lot of time to get used to the camera before i left. I used new 2700mah rechargeable batteries and they lasted me the whole trip and about 650 shots. I took the standard 18-55mm and a 28-300mm lens from my film camera. I found that the shots were pin sharp even with the ...
