i was going to get a high end p&s (XZ-2) and end up getting a new K10 and K01 on discounted price. so i am new for pentax but it doesn't take long for me to enjoy the experience.i still hope to get a compact as i missed it. i have learn a great deal about Q here and the MX-1 sounds very exciting. just wonder if anyone happen to have the mx1 and the Q/Q10 to give some insights.i understand they design for different use and not in the same category. i almost certain to get the MX-1 but the...
over at the SLR forum there is a thread about the K-01:K-01 -- what you see ain't what you get?answered by Cane:http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/post/50916236So the question is:Does the screen of the MX-1 get dimmer if you underexpose by turning the exposure adjustment wheel from 0 to -2?Thanks a lot.I think about getting the MX-1 as a companion to my K-5.--][.Keruskerwe don't see that we don't see (eye's blind spot)
Recently, in cold temperature (2C to -15C), I have noticed that the image on the LCD screen of the K01 was "flashing" (tearing/bliking?) when the luminosity of the scene was changing. This happens with my K01, and, my GF's K01 -- with both cameras. At first, I thought one camera was starting to degrade, but, I noticed the same with the other one too. It's very unlikely that both are defective. (I hope not!)Did you notice (or not) similar phenomena in cold weather with your K01...
Hi allI got my k01 finally and am getting used to it.When in movie mode I see the focus square thing at the beginning fine, but when I start taking the video ('filming' comes to my lips, but of course there is no film, and who says 'videoing') the focus point/square disappears from view. However if it is set to the side it stayts at the side, not the middle, and thus you can't properly see it.Am I just stuck with this or is there something I can do to maintain the focus point in view while...
Hello and thank you for reading!New to the DSLR world with my K-01 & want to shoot with more range than with the included 40mm XS lens.My budget is about $500 when I'm ready and I saw some choices that seem to fill my need in learning more about photography. I would like the flexibility to shoot many things as I learn what my preference is, though I've been shooting a mix of street, portrait, macro, low light and general landscapes so far.In short: I'm debating between the (Pentax DA 18-55mm...
I found a inexpensive LCD-Viewfinder that is intended to fit Canon EOS cameras and would like to know if anyone has tried it on a K-01. The critical part of the fit appears to be the location of the tripod mount hole relative to the viewfinder. I use mostly manual prime lenses and would like to improve my ability to focus in bright sunlight. I included a link below for the LCD-V3 made in China...
