When shooting with exposure bracketing on, can you control the shutter either by remote, phone through flu card, or timer so as not to shake the camera? With my k-01, I can't use exposure bracketing with any of the above at the same time (at least I haven't found out how).

Hello All, I have been on this forum for little over a year now, but this is my first post. But have been actively reading many of the posts and learnt a lot from it, thank you all for that. Ok now, Amateur astronomy and Star gazing is one of my fav hobbies and I have started to spend time on astro-photography. I have done some wide-field, constellation and Lunar till now.. but feel i should try on DSOs. I own a K-01 and K-r.. and seems neither of these have an option to take remote shutter...

So I started with Pentax some years ago with a K-r, drawn in by the small limited lenses nobody else was making. I then progressed to the k-01, and have the da 15, 35macro, 40mm, as well as a Sigma 10-20 and 30mm f1.4 and some random older Pentax lenses. I've been really struggling to decide to stay with Pentax or go to something like the em-1 or G7.  I shoot two subjects, architecture interiors and exteriors, and my little kids. I recently bought a Ricoh GR and a lx100, which I use as small...

Hi, I am looking for trying out some other camera system for making videos. I am not considering Panasonic GH series (too expensive) or any other M4/3 system (the sensor is too small for narrow DOF). Both Nikon and Canon are useless for video (autofocus too slow and noisy), and the key lenses (35mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.8) are not with stabilization. The whole Sony package is too expensive (very expensive lenses and accessories). Fuji is really bad for video. I also have Samsung gear, but it does...

This thing racks through the whole zoom range it seems on my k-01, grinding away like a power drill, every time it focuses or re-focuses. It does it with force, but by the time it finds focus, shooting the moment is often gone. Fine for landscapes, not so good for a child who has turned their head already. I hear the k3 has a faster focus motor. Will I see any noticeable gains moving on from the k-01, or are any gains minimal at best?

I have another wedding to shoot shortly, a small affair for a guy at my "day job" (sad but true - can't always be shooting !!) He has asked if I we could shoot some video ..... OK ? Not done any video editing before but my ever faithful sidekick and partner did a fabulous job (with the K-01 on a tripod and panned about slowly) the other day at another small job I had. The result, despite the poor lighting, was not too bad, so without buying some specialist kit, I thought i'd turn the ever...

I really like the feel of the K-01 compared to the K-r I used to have. I like the feel of the materials, the quiet shutter, the feel of the dials. It just feels premium vs. that old kr. That thing was very plastic feeling. How does the k3 compare? I don't have anywhere to see one in person and I've never seen one out in the wild. I was out looking at a canon 70d because it has many of the features I want compared to the k3 and it's really about the only camera besides Nikon I can see in...

The only issue I really have with the k-01 is af speed. I like the size, the weight the build. I am worried about the k3 heft, but I like the sensor shift to help even the slightest bit with converging angles on architrcture and interior shot and hopefully be able to track toddlers better. Pull the trigger?

Hello, I just ordered a K-01, and I'm eagerly awaiting it's arrival. I read a lot of reviews before buying it, and every second review complained about the flimsy rubber cover on the side, and fear of it breaking eventually. Not that I'm afraid of that, but I'm curious if it actually broke for anyone. Can you share your experience after a few months/years of shooting with it? Cheers, --Inkheart

I usually shoot with M mode by setting the exposure according to the position of EV bar in OVF. And I used to having the EV bar at -1 (under exposure), and Auto EV Compensation OFF. Everything was OK until one day of last month, when I found the LCD on my K5-IIs was so bright that it washed out the whole image, if I do Live View, Instant Review and Playback the images I am taking. Then I adjusted the LCD Display Settings to Brightness -3, Contrast +3. The Playback of images is acceptable now,...
