I love this camera, the kit lense isnt the greatest but works well. Problems: Many lenses are expensive because they were discontinued, autofocus sucks in the dark but works well when combined w/ an external flash with focus assist light. You can also pop up the flash so that it will strobe in the dark then close the flash after it has been focused.

I´ve been using this camera for half a year now. For a price it´s a excellent choise. Images are neutral and not too processed. With bright-mode you can get candy-like shots if you like. Ergonomics are not as good as *ist D, but still very good. Much much better than 350/400D. It´s very easy and joy to use. A perfect beginner camera. Viewfinder is acceptaple too. Problems: Not any real problems. Ergonomics could be a bit better and build quality is a little cheap. But for a price, both ...

For $490 CAD I paid, with kit lense, this is one excellent camera. I rate image quality as excellent because I only shoot RAW. The DL is easy to use and very user friendly, love the Fn feature button. The simpler, the better...Great camera. Irek.

I purchased the DL about 4 months ago when the price dropped and Pentax was offering a $100 rebate. My net price was $364 with the kit lens. What a deal and can easily say that it has exceeded my expectations. It is trouble free and capable of capturing excellent images if I do my part. Do not let the low price fool you. The DL has excellent build quality and ergonomics for an entry level DSLR. The large high res 2.5" LCD puts the Nikon D50 and Canon Rebel XT to shame. The Canon has ...

Great high quality camera and great image quality. I also have one Sigma lens, an 28/1.8. The Sigma lens (1.8) and high ISO (low noise) you get excellent photos in the evening. Problems: The speedlight somtimes not perfect on higher iso-level.

Great little camera - I've had it for 2 months. I did not like the Canon 350D much for some reason, and I was about to buy a Canon 20D but I just couldn't justify the price difference to myself. That, plus having a couple of old Pentax lenses made up my mind for me. The kit lens is fantastic, much nicer build than any of the other flimsy 18-55 lenses out there. In fact, the lenses are part of the reason why I chose Pentax - I don't have the budget for pro glass from Canon or Nikon and Pentax ...
