This lens was included with my first Pentax DSLR—my K10D. I really just needed a general zoom to go with my first DSLR. However, after using this lens for a couple of years following the purchase of my Pentax smc DA 12-24mm F4.0 ED AL (IF), I realized how lousy this lens was in terms of IQ and performance. when beginning with 24mm with f 4-4,5 (I don't use 18mm, because of CA's and week corners) 35mm with 4,5-5,6 45mm with f 8, and 55mm with 9,5-11, really sharp photos nearly without CA's very high contrast, very nice colors, beautiful bokeh. with achromatic macro lens very sharp.
