I bought this camera to replace my stolen Panasonic Lumix FX2. Important for me were weight, slimness and zoom range. Having had it for nearly 6 months now I can say I'm very pleased indeed. Fot me the most surprising thing was the image quality which I could never achieve with the Lumix which under or over exposed so many pictures as well as very bad colour representation. The bad points (although I'd still buy this camera again or the P80 if it were stolen) are: Video is a little too shaky ...

Checked this out for my wife. Beautiful design in piano white. Slim and attractive. Faster than previous models. Good price. Excellent menu and ease of use. Picture is as good as any at this price range. Don't expect too much and you'll be happy. Problems: HD video practically a lie. Get extended warranty, Pentax cameras break after 1,5 years like no tomorrow.

If you are in the market for a capable but portable and easy to use camera, let this the one that attracts your attention first: it has a wide angle zoom with sensor shift image stabilisation system, knows HD movie (although at 15 fps rate), has an excellent IQ and is all in all straight forward to use.
