I have been using a Olympus E500 for a long time now and I am now looking to upgrade. I want to get serious in wildlife photography and wanted to know what has worked for others. I am looking in the mid price range for the camera. Please let me know what you think. Thanks
Hi folks. Was thinking of getting an inexpensive (read: cheap) ;-) Four Thirds camera body to use with my Zuiko 35mm f/3.5 macro, and a couple of kit lenses. My E500 is unfortunately falling apart and next to inoperable. Saw a used E1 going for $75 and an E520 for $144 off eBay. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be an Oly. Thanks in advance.
I am in a 5-year battle with my insurance company over a house fire. They claim their Olympus E500 camera skipped 44 numbers in sequence when they changed the battery of their camera. That is, they have photos numbered, say, 1 through 225 with the last one taken at 11AM and then photos numbered 269 through 350 with the first taken at noon. Of course these photos would have been of some of the critical pieces of evidence. I also have an eye witness that saw them being taken. My question: ...
I wish to replace my E500 which stopped working (card error). I am an artist who has tp photograph work for reproducing as prints or publication. I also photograph birds and the sport of cricket. My 70-300 lens was too slow focussing for fast birds in flightand birds against the sky. Will E-M5 or E-m10 be too slow with old 70-300 lens. Should I get a new lens as well. Trying to keep cost low but get the job done. Would full frame be better?
I've been a loyal Olympus DSLR user since my E500. Upgraded to the E510 and finally to the E30.. I've aquired a couple lenses (14-54 and 50-200) along with the 1.4TC, FL-50R and a number of Heliopan filters.Question, Olympus has obviously done away with their full size DSLR and gone Micro. The E5 isn't enough of an upgrade and the OM-D E-M1 seems to have a problem with AF using the lenses I own.Not interested in spending $3k+ for an EOS 5D and have to buy new lenses and accessories.. Any...
Hi I'm new to this group. I have a Swarovski ATX 85 telescope for digiscoping and use it with my Olympus e500 but I got very disappointing results. It has a special attachment using a T-mount. I've seen the Sony Nex-6 and this seems to fit the bill for my photographic needs to replace the Olympus and want to use it with my scope. What are your thoughts about the camera and does anyone have any experience of using it for digiscoping please? Do I have other options for digiscoping (including...
hi, I know very little about photography. I am not fluent in the use a professional camera, but can point and click. I am using cameras borrowed because they have a mount system that connects to a telescope. All I want to do is take pictures with a telescope. I have a T2 adapter for an Olympus e500 I borrowed. I have an adapter to go from T2 mount to a telescope. However I just realised this camera does not do live view before taking pictures. Big problem when trying to focus a telescope and...
Hello I bought a simple official Olympus remote RM-2 for my E500 camera but it doesn't seem to work. The signal is good, I have checked with a mobile phone to see the infrared beam coming. I have the right remote control camera mode, I've tried both the instant and 2 second delay remote modes countless times. The store treats me like an idiot and says I probably run out of batteries and am not using the right mode. What could be the fault and can anything be done to get it working?
Hi to all I wanted to get some other views on this, having done a fair amount of research now. I have been using Olympus for quite a while now (maybe 8 years or so), having started with an E500 and kit lenses. A few years ago I bought a discounted E620 and gifted the E500 with its original kit mid-zoom. I have acquired a number of bits and pieces since then: FL-36R - I don't use this as much as I thought I would although it is obviously useful and much nicer than the built in flash. I tend...
