I've had this camera 3 wks now cannot fault it, allthough this is my 1st digital , I have had use of several others ie:- cannon s/ shotshot 70 , nikon coolpix (2mp). I found them very good, but the 5 mp & 5x zoom on the pentax sets it apart if you are going to enlarge/crop and print to A4/ A3. I have been a keen A/photo & cine/video user for nearly 40 yrs now I used to del/print my own pics very time consuming, but with digital & this camera its a joy to to do. Just in case, I'm not saying ...

Amazing value for money, definitely. But that doesn't mean this is cheap camera, far from it. With superb battery life, 5x optical zoom, plenty of manual controls, and very small body(small for their list of goods) i like to say that this is unique camera. Image quality results can suprise you, but with exposure compensation corrections occasionally and maybe playing with contrast/sharpnes/saturation options. Problems: Focusing in low light conditions is, well, very slow(but it's precisely ...

Best camera for the money. I bought this from Pixmania.com (Europe), and saved myself 100€ doing so, compared to the cheapest store in Denmark. The 19$ shipping cost from France to Denmark, a 500 miles trip, was promised to me in under 48 hours. It was delivered to my doorstep in 18 hours. I'm impressed. The Camera itself is a bliss, and i have all the functionallity i can handle. I do not agree with the people who thinks that the battery/SD and the power door is flimsy and cheap and ...

It's not so good like I was thinking, reading this opinions. My friend of the shop gave me also this 5 Mp 5x camera to test. In 10 days, I tried it almost in every way and condition, and the results is always medium, as image quality, definition, colors and details. It's not amazing at all, but the incredible worst thing is the time so slow between push and shoot. If the subject is in movement is not possible to take the picture u want, never! And this for me is enough to say that is the ...

This superb little camera has fully lived up to my expectations which resulted from intense research. It is my first venture into digital photography after many years of semi-professional roll and 35mm film use. The reasons for not making an earlier switch have now been removed by the 555 which totally satisfy my demanding requirements for a compact camera. The lens scope is fantastic and the macro facilities are thrilling. The image quality is also outstanding and the choice of functions is ...

This is a wonderful camera and really the only one of it's kind with the list of features in this size camera. Love the 5x Optical zoom, the fun little extras like color filters, picture modes, 3-D and panorama. The battery is incredible. It never dies...goes on and on. Picures are really nice. Love to take picrures at night with the lights outside. This is a wonderful camera you can really grow with. Problems: The lens cover seems a bit flimsy, although I haven't had problems yet. It is ...

Hi, one and a half month that I enjoy my optio 555!!! It's just a chance to get such performance in such a compact camera. To the people who hesitate, like I did: - 5x zoom, it s just great, and the digital zoom is not crap as we often hear in general, all that in the same price range as the good 3x zoom cameras. It is just a chance not to be missed. - Interface is pretty simple, battery excellent. - Sony v1 is big, zoom only 4x, and I heard the battery is crap. Problems: Now the small problems: ...

My first digital was a Kodak DC-50. For it's day it was great, so out of loyalty I first checked out Kodak when I wanted to move up. Largain Lmini 350 was my next camera. Much smaller and pretty good but still no review capability. So out of loyalty I first checked out Largan when I wanted to move up. Next came an Olympus c3000 a few years ago. I liked it .. BUT many little problems not the least was the AA batteries going dead all the time. So out of loyalty I first checked out Olympus when ...

I purchased a 555 in November. I was very impressed at the ease of operation and setup. The picture quality seems to be excellent. Flash pictures seem to be a little dark although settings will probably correct his since it has flash intensity adjustments. Focus is lacking a little as it is somewhat slow in low light. Using spot focus makes this worse. Overall I am satisfied with the camera but compared to my Pentax 35mm, it is much slower. Compared to other digitals I think the speed ...

I have a question. I bought the 550 and found that it was a great problem with a few flaws. So I returned it. I am hoping that the 555 is better. My problems were... 1) It could not focus quickly or deal well in low light situations (like my older Sony did). 2) The noise was really bad (again in indoor and low light). 3) The lens bent any straight lines at the edge of the photo (some is OK, but this camera was bad). Is the 555 any better in these areas? I loved the 550 otherwise... Thanks, ...
