Bought this camera one year ago. More than 2000 pictures. Overall satisfied with it. Easy to carry, and easy to use, good pictures at daylight. Good movie mode. SD card is cheap. I like its manual focus function, it makes me take flash pictures at very dark situation. Problems: High noise in night pictures, battery life is not good enough.

I love my Optio 43WR! dpreview gave me the information needed to choose my perfect camera. I am a fisherman and since the Optio 43WR is water resistant I don't have to worry about it getting ruined by water. The picture quality is great, especially for pictures of fish and outdoor scenes. I especially like the macro setting. The macro pictures of streamside insects are clear and full of intricate detail from as close as 1cm away from the subject. The video quality is a good as you can ...

I've had mine for 9 months but I fell off my mountain bike (actually, a spread eagle endo) while the camera was in my pack's belt pocket. Ouch! Now it just whirrs and doesn't complete its startup - NO FAULT OF THE CAMERA. I looked around for a new camera and came to the conclusion that there's no other camera with the same great feature set (including the new (W)ater (P)roof camera from Pentax). Here's the critical features of the 43WR for me: - (W)ater (R)esistant [(W)ater (P)roof would be ...

Got what must be the last one on sale in the UK and I love it. I needed a camera for those times I would not be taking the *istD out of it bag (rain, sand, dust, etc) and its superb. Image quality is a lot better than I expected though probably not as good as some of the best 4MP cams. However its more than adequate. Construction and handling are a lot better than I expected too. Surprised how easy it is to hold and use. Problems: LCD is too hard to see in bright light. Wish it had Av mode.

Well they said it was good for 30 minutes in water and I tested it. We rafted for 12 days in the Yukon, BC, Alaska and it survived all the silt, rain and rough water. On one day, it spent 15 minutes floating in a pocket of water before I discovered it. Still works great. This camera is amazing. Fits into pockets, great for kayaking, rowing, or rafting. It's simple set up makes it extremely easy to use. It's size means it goes everywhere and I can strap it to the font of my backpack ...

Dunkable, pocket sized, great pictures. This is a wonderful little camera. slip it in you pants pocket and take it anywhere -- the beach, out in the rain, boating -- and don't worry about damage. Remember, the best camera in the world is worthlewss if you don't have it with you; the combination of size and water proofness of this little gem makes it unbeatable. Advanced photgraphers will miss some of the manual override features, but there are still plenty of exposure mode options to ...

Great outdoors camera. Not only is it water resistant (it can even be immersed or washed under a tap) but because it can run on AA batteries you can use it "off the beaten track" (eg. trekking in Nepal) where recharging batteries is not an option but AAs are always available. With 4MP capability, useful optical zoom range, and superb 640x480 30 fps video it has got to be one of the best value "point and shoot" digital cameras available at the moment. Problems: No lens cap (although the lens ...

This camera is great, despite what follows. I am generally very pleased with the quality of the images that it produces - sharp lens, good resolution and natural colour rendition. Some of my shots are at "www.isb.smugmug.com". I really miss shutter & aperture priority, but I knew that I would before I bought it. However, its compact size and water resistance make it ideal for my hobby of hiking in tropical rainforests, the reason that I bought it, together with sailing and beach use. Problems: ...

I bought it for it's weather resistance, but was suprised at it's excellent macro (25mm FOV). With it's small size, it really is my 'take anywhere' camera, and I can wash it in the sink... Problems: Can go through batteries fast if the flash is used a lot.
