After 8 months of looking here, I chose the Optio 330 over the tiny Kyocera & Canon models. I am NOT an expert, but after taking my Pentax on a trip and forgetting the instruction book, I am impressed with the ease of operation and the quality of the photos. I took indoor shots with and without flash, sunrises, mountain vistas, and I am truly pleased. My old Minolta SRT 101 is wonderful, but my 330 is going to go places with me. I read all these reviews to decide, and perhaps mine will ...

Sample photos - G1 v 330 shoot-out! You may wish to view several photos taken with the Pentax Optio 330: http://www.pbase.com/fototaker/pentax_optio_ There are a couple of shoot-out shots taken with both the Pentax Optio 330 and the Canon Powershot G1, also a 3 mega-pixel camera. What do you think comparing the two? I think they are very comparable, which says a lot for the Optio 330, an ultra-compact with a tiny lens, whereas the G1 is a "prosumer" full-sized camera. I will be uploading more ...

I've heard that we can use Nokia battery in the Optio 330. Is ti real? Isn't it dangerous for the camera? Thanx Problems: not yet

My sister got one of these for Christmas and while I don't own one I did get to experience it somewhat. Within a couple weeks of when the camera was brand new, the writing describing the functions around the "joystick" thing in the back rubbed off and the lens cover would not stay closed if jarred at all. The only way to close the lens back is to turn the camera on and then off again. The camera had to be exchanged and I don't know how the new one is doing. Other than that, I loved the camera!

This is a great camera. I tried the sony dsc-p5 and canon s110 as well. Most reviews talk of problems with this camera that I am yet to notice. So, even if true, the emphasis on them is totally misplaced. Low light focus is not too great and I wish they had put in one of those assist lights. There are ways to get around this, though. Picture quality is great. I keep my camera on medium res, medium compression (like most people would). The colours are vivid and the quality is great overall. No ...

I recieved the 330 as a gift and my first opinion of the camera was that it was very small and hence low on features. However i was pleasantly surprised. The 330 has exceeded my expectations, with a great level of manual adjustment available. Problems: The camera is slightly noisy and gets a bit hot but this doesn't bother me. The only extra which this camera needs is a micrphone for the movie mode!

Love the portability (goes right in my pocket) and software that comes with it. Haven't really pushed picture quality to limits but did a 1024x768 picture and printed out a 8x11 print and at first look it looks great but close inspect can see "grain"... will have to try at 2048x1536. Problems: Seems like battery life is not per spec... more like 30-50 photo's for me

So much better than the Kyocera Finecam S3/Konica KD-300Z. Yes, the resolution (in lines per picture) may not be quite as good as larger cameras with larger lenses, but ultra-compact size is essential to me, so I will only compare this with other ultra-compact cameras. (At first I was kicking myself when the Optio 430 came out and it was too late to take back the 330, but assuming that the 430 uses the same compact lens as the 330, it probably isn't good enough to take advantage of any more ...

I just got this camera last week and I love it. I have been without a camera for the last two years (mostly because I hate carrying them around). The optio is easy to take anywhere while still being a high quality camera. Also all the manual features make me feel like I can control my picture taking. I am an amature and that is probably why I don't notice some of it's very technical problems. Also there is a $100 rebate until june so the price was better the all of its competitors(if you ...
