I currently own a Canon S95, which seems to take pretty good pictures. However, it is not great in low light, and I have taken a few thousand pics with it. I am looking to buy another smaller sized camera that I can use when my Canon dies, and also that is a little better in low light. My main requirement for any camera is that it takes sharp pictures. The Pentax MX-1 sounds interesting, but does not seem to be too popular. I only would like to spend around $300 or less. Any...
Is it true f/1.8 – f/2.5 has the faster lens speed than f/1.8 – f/5.6 because the former has the smaller minimum aperture f/2.5 than the latter f/5.6? If so, what compact zoom camera has the smallest minimum aperture (highest f-number) in the market? Are they Olympus XZ-2 and Pentax MX-1? Is there any other compact zoom camera has the minimum aperture smaller than f/2.5 in the market? I am not talking about the maximum but only minimum aperture (highest f-number) on the compact zoom camera....
Hello, I am in kind of dilemma whether to go for MX-1 or Fujifilm X-20? I have found used X-20 at reasonable price but it is more expensive than MX-1. It will be mostly used for landscape, travel, family shots. Which handles more better in terms of Image Quality Handling Responsive Battery Life Overall Usage Any input will be highly appreciated. Thanks for the time. Kalpesh
Has anyone had a problem turning on an MX-1 and receiving a remove lens cap message even though the cap was off when button was pushed and the lens then extends and immediately retracts and camera turns off. After many attempts to start with the cap off this still happens resulting in the camera being unusable. This is happening on a new camera.
I am looking for a good camera around $300. The camera that is easy to use and suitable for taking pictures of toddlers. Initially I have been looking from compact camera pool and below are my selections. 1.Olympus XZ-2 2.Pentax MX-1 3.Canon G15 Then I have come across Canon EOS M with pancake lense. my questions: 1. should I buy a compact high end camera or Canon EOS M? 2. Which Compact camera would you recommend out of 3 I have selected? I know very little about cameras and will appreciate...
I am a looking for input regarding the purchase of a second hand compact. Level of use will be occasional photography until I find my bearings, at this point I don't think it's wise to fork out for a new camera that I may end up not using that much. Basically I'm looking for maximum bang for buck. All these cameras seem to be going for roughly the same price on Ebay. I really like the look of the retro cameras and I do believe the right camera can inspire someone to get out there and enjoy...
