Haven't seen this focus problem at all with my (identical) HP 912. Those who are looking for parts and/or batteries packs accessories, should go straight to HP and they will get them overnight, no problem. The 912 is a "badge engineered" Pentax, I can see. But it's a GREAT camera! Center the subject, LOCK the focus, then frame the picture any way you want it (including main subject off-center). Got it! Isn't this "problem" always there with auto-focus, and for that matter, metering? Pro ...View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
Very nice camera to use. Used Canon SLR's before so I chose the EI2000 'cause of the layout. My biggest critisism and the only one is the image quality. The sharpness is very very poor compared to my 1.3 mpixel Fuji I had before. Something badly wrong Pentax. What is it? Comments would be appreciated as I am about to return the camera to the shop for an exchange or refund if I can't sort it out. Problems: Image quality. As this is the reason you buy a camera to take good images then this one ...View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
I bought this camera after much research in December 2001. Instantly impressed with what was in the box and almost instantly disappointed with the pictures. Very much hit and miss with the focus and lots of shots coming out looking "soft" and lacking sharpness and detail. Foruntately the company had a 14 day no quibble guarantee and therefore returned if for an Olympus E-100RS (WOW - what a difference). I really liked the look of this camera and was disappointed with the performance. Sorry ...View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
This is an initial review after only 24 hours. I purchased this camera S/H as it was very cheap for a digital SLR. I'm impressed by the ease of use and feature set. I already have a Minolta Dimage 1500 Zoom (1.3Mpels), and wanted an SLR type for macro work. I especially like the ability to use Shutter or aperture priority exposure modes. I still need to experiment with Raw mode and manual focusing to see if the focus/sharpness problem is caused by the auto-focus, the software or the lens (see ...View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
Nice try Pentax! but lack of quality. This is maby why the EI-3000 was canseled... Problems: Got my first EI-2000 in August this year. First problems after one week. The camera didnt accept the HAMA 64MB CF card I bought. I tryed two different cards, but the camera destroyed the cards. Then I got a SanDisc CF card and that solved the problem. Then two weeks ago the camera started taking half exposured pictures. Only half of the pics was taken, the other half was black/white rasted. I then got ...View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
the TTL flash function is a good design. i bought it in HK n it is really cheep about just cost less than USD$400. but it is not a common price in HK also. wonder if it will become that cheep in other countries. it got most major functions which a tradition photographer like M, AV, TV and auto. Problems: although it is kind of SLR. but even sometimes even you find the image is in focus by the view finder, the image that you take might be a different story. focus is not fast enoughView review in forums Leave a comment on this review
Feels rugged and like a standard SLR - that's about all I can say about it. Problems: Difficult to focus and simply refused to focus on close shots. Colours too muted, overall images flat and dull. I was very disappointed with this camera considering it bears the Pentax name.View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
