I recommended the purchase of three of these for my office about two to three years ago, right as they had been discontinued. We paid $400 each. All three get heavy use by as many as 20 different people. They have been dropped, abused and misused. Most of the users are amateurs. Out of the three, one had to be sent back for service after it was dropped. For a small fee, Pentax fixed it up, sent it back and all was well. All three are still in service and work flawlessly. The image quality is ...

OK until started having problems with camera switching off by itself, then once camera had reached 18 months old, I could not switch it on. Took it to local camera specialist who sent off for estimate on repair cost. Shock horror, told it was beyond economic repair - £450 down the tubes. Is there anything I can do to kick Pentax into a partial refund, as it appears from other forum posts, I an not the only one with power problems

I had this same problems with my 2020olympus, the said my camera had impact damage, when it was never dropped and always kept in camera bag, funny as it just came back from the same repair shop trip # 1 said it was ok but trip #2 said impact damage what a joke Problems: they want 400 to repair and I have still 1 1/2 yr left on warranty

The Camera is easy to use, with all the functionality of a normal SLR without the Lens aspect. Natural daylight images are captured with realism, although there can be moire problems. The images are easily downloaded as there isn't really a need for special software, just a USB port. The focusing is pretty accurate and quick. Feels like and handles like a normal compact camera, unlike some with obvious look and feel of a digital camera, Having a normal view finder makes it easier to ...

Problems: Do not do the Firmware update yourself. I tried. The circuit got damaged somehow. Pentax is charging me about 10% of the price to fix it. I bought the camera two weeks ago.

After 20 years of 35 mm photography, I was looking for a digital with quality and features - Pentax came through. I've shot 2500 pictures in Europe and in the US over the past 8 months with this camera - and it is outstanding for a 2.11 M Pixel Camera. The Flash features, focus metering, and many other menu items must be studied (use manual focus for night shots!) - but with very little practice it is a very easy to use camera. Sepia tone option is also fun. HP Technology and Pentax ...

I'm a thirty year architect. After several days of intense research, I bought this camera for general purpose use through AOL Netmarket 07/05/01 . I was initially happily excited about the purchase, although it's brutal on battery use, even Ray O Vac's rechargeable NiMh units. I had only taken about 150 shots with it when it quit functioning less than four months later. I sent the camera back to Pentax in Colorado for repair 11/01. Although it's been in a padded case since only hours I got ...

I am very much impressed with the ease of use and the picture quality of this camera. I also like the novel features like being able to view pictures on the TV. Nice size to carry around. Problems: Battery life, too short
