Although I didn't do any "scientific" experiment for the question I'm about to ask, I really believe that I get different results on my GH2 when shooting with Lumix lenses (like 14-140) versus wide angle Rokinon 7.5 For example, an average city scene in the middle of the day. The Lumix lens, for whatever reason, doesn't seem to give as much latitude in post when I try to recover the blue sky and get the shadows up. On the other hand, when I shoot with Rokinon 7.5, it seems much easier to make...

Hello Just looking for some clarity as I'm going in circles considering my current alternatives. I own an Olympus OMD EM5 but am looking for a camera predominantly for video use. Non-professional but good quality. As well as the kit Oly12-50mm lens I have the 45mm and 17mm f1.8 lenses. I need a camera that is not too steep a learning curve for a relative newbie but that can still produce nice cinematic images. I'm traveling to Sri Lanka later in the year so my mind is partly on something that...

Hi everyone, Complete noob here, so apologies in advance! Had my sights set on a Canon EOS M for the past two weeks, then randomly bought a GH2 instead at a cheaper price!! So impressed with it so far! Just a quick question for now to find out if anyone has used the GH2 in conjunction with a Flyboy 3? I am on a fairly tight budget but require some manner of stabilization for outside work, so it came down to the Flyboy 3 or a second hand Flycam Nano? (Flyboy - £34 / Nano - £50'ish). Would...

I have been using a Panasonic LX7 for two years to record marching band competitions and color guard competitions. I typically shoot full wide (24 mm 35 equiv.) and wide open (f1.4 at widest) for marching band competitions, at least after dark and whatever ISO makes it work. For color guard competitions, which are in high school gyms typically, the same settings. So, all things being equal - wider is better, faster is better, less expense would be nice. Think more in terms of journalistic as...

I'm looking at getting a flash to work with my GH2. I have an old Sunpack flash that I'd consider using but the safe-synch adaptor that I'd need to use with it seems to be the better part of a new flash... and with the right new flash I could get TTL. The Panasonic and Olympus flashes are more than I want to spend so I'm wondering about these 3rd party brands that I'm seeing that seem to be made for m4/3 and are very attractively priced. What I'm wanting is something that I can use with full...

I received my new GH4 today. I used the Service Menu (same as on GH2 and GH3) to check history. The result was  27 power cycles and 34 shutter actuations. 34 shutter actuations (well, really 33 since I had to get an image on the SD card to use the service menu) seems low for someone using the camera and then deciding to return it. And so far I seen nothing wrong with this unit. Have any of you with a GH4 done a similar check? And otherwise, what are your thoughts? --Phil

While I am struggling with selling my OM-D E-M5, I don't really know how to build up my m43 kit, and would like to ask for your opinion. Right now I have a Panasonic GF2 which was my first, beloved m43 gear, and I bought it again after I found out that I can't live with the E-M5. However, I would like to have a Panasonic body which is more up to date than my slightly restricted GF2. I saw that used GH2 is a bargain nowdays, but I am also tempted to the new GX7, which is obviously much more...

On my GH2 when using manual focus legacy lenses I could push in the thumb wheel to activate manual focus assist (enlargement).  I've been trying to find out how it works with the GH3.  Quite by accident I found that I can swipe the screen to enlarge the focus area, but can't see how to do it without the LCD being opened. Is there a way to activate it with the controls?  Can't find it in the manual........ but maybe I haven't looked hard enough yet! Thx!

Hello everyone, Hope you are well. I want to have a small setup that I can take with me when I am shooting with my D800E. I do not want to keep changing lenses, and a 600mm equivalent lens is going to be really heavy, really expensive and really big. Also the time and inconvenience of changing lenses. So anyway, I was thinking how this lens would go with either GH3 or GX7? Both bodies have their strengths and weaknesses, and I was wondering if anyone using this cameras with the lens in...

Just taken delivery of my new GH3.  Haven't had time to put it through its paces yet, just getting it set up and getting my head around the changes.  Firstly, I just love the handling!  The grip is perfect for me and the balance of the whole unit with the 14-140 MkII is so much better than the GH2 with the old 14-140. The electronic viewfinder is definitely a step backwards but not enough to be a deal-breaker for me.  (I bought sight-unseen which I swore never to do again - but caved when I...
