I got FZ-7 July 12, 2006. This model has amazing lens (sharp image, smooth drive, excellent stabilization). Sensor in not something special, but it's good enough. You can use images for print or monitor and nothing wrong will be. Day pictures are superb and night w/o flash are ... almost bad. It's normal for this class and money camera! Interface (hard and soft) of the camera is brilliant! FZ-7 is enough light and ergonomic, so I can hold it in my hand, run and shoot for 2-3 hours (part of my ...

I like the focal range of this camera, the lens quality and the ergonomic. The LCD isn't high resolution but is very bright and colourful. The "power lcd" function is also useful. This camera can take very good pictures at ISO 80 and 100, decent at 200 and bad at ISO 400. I don't use "high sensitivity mode" because of the hard noise reduction system and low resolution. To reduce the bad effects of the Venus engine II I suggest to set noise reduction, sharpness and contrast to LOW. I give 4 ...

I purchased this camera as a back up for my Sony R1. It is lighter and has a little more reach in the zoom...okay, a lot more reach! It will also take decent videos in those ball parks where video cameras are not allowed. Let me say this, this is a great little camera! I have been thoroughly impressed. The quality is very, very good overall and it really does take great shots. Will it replace the R1..not a chance, but it is a great camera. The lens is Bright and Sharp and delivers!

Used to be really big into photography and then life came around with Uni, military service and other hobbies. Had a Minolta Dimage 7Hi in the past and it was a fantastic camera. Recently, being really into wakeboarding, wanted a camera that could handle the shots from the boat (about 70ft away) and that was quick enough to capture the action and also small enough to bring on trips around. Finally decided on the FZ7 after comparing it with the Canon S3 IS (which inevitably will occur) and the ...

Sorry for my bad English. I am FLEMISH ! (Belgium they say...) This is my fifth digital camera in about 6 yaers. I had two Olympus (2 Mb and 3 Mb) and a Canon G2 (4 Mb) with only 3 X Zoom. I have (for travelling) also a Pentax Optio 555 (5 Mb) with a 5 x enlargement. Very light en good. The Pana FZ7 has 6 Mb, but I don't need that. I was looking for a mega-zoom with good image stabilisation. And the F7 7 IS a MEGA ZOOM with GOOD IMAGE STABILISATION !!! At 3 and 4 Mb you can even easely use ...

There is a lot of talk about high ISO noise with this camera. I almost didn't buy it for this reason. I have experience with the cannon s3 is and many Nikon and Olympus point and shoots and I can tell you that the difference in detail or noise at high ISO is so small that you need to review pics at 100% to see the difference. The only reason to do this is A: you are bored, B: you make a habit of taking pics way too far away and then cropping them down 90%, C: you intend to enlarge picture ...

I bought the Panasonic FZ7 in May of 2006. Its one of many cameras ive owned or own. (Fuji F30, and F20, Canon SD630, Nikon L5, Canon Rebel XTi and Fuji S6000fd) Since the purchase, I have reviewed many of the pictures taken and I can say that im slightly disappointed with the Image quality. Noise is noticable in almost every picture taken. I am annoyed by noise and the problems it creates when printed of even viewed on a computer screen. Panasonic really needs to redesign there Image ...

I just recently got my FZ7 and am very impressed with it. I used the reviews here to make my choice and the fact that I'm cheap had something to do with it too. I've always been a fan of Panasonic products and once again they've given me just what I wanted. A camera that is very easy to use, takes very good shots and is very affordable. I recommend this camera. Problems: I haven't encountered any problems yet that were'nt attributed to my lack of familiarity with the camera.

I purchased this camera in April 2006 and have used it on several trips including kayaking, hiking, camping and rafting. It worked great and took many excellent pictures. The Zoom works excellent when it works. The opicture quality is excellent. The LCD monitor is okay but should be improved. The shutter lag is acceptable and the flash works quite well. The movie mode is good but it would be nice to be able to zoom when shooting. I recommended this camera to numerous people until it the zoom ...
