Ok, so I'm gonna write a longer one... I've been interested in getting a LUMIX ultra-zoom for quite some time now and I do a lot of research before I get something. I did with the FZ30 as well, and this page was one that kept reading for quite some time until I finally decided that this camera was what I wanted, for the price. A few ecnounters with more primitive compact cameras that some of my friends have tought me that small lenses and large displays is not the way I wanno go about ...

Awesome camera on overcast and sunny days. The zoom is amazing for such a compact camera. The deal breaker for upgrading (to a k5) was majorly the sensor. It didn't do so well in dark situations however, put it in a lit area and it's really a sweet camera. I recommend this camera to anyone wanting to upgrade from a point and shoot. Problems: Little small for my hands.

I went through many a review of the FZ10 and decided to forgoe that model and get the new FZ30. I have not regretted it in the least. Outside of not knowing all the features and how to use them, my pictures come out better than I can imagine. My first digital camera was a Panasonic 1.3 Palm Cam and that is why I went with Panasonic this time. I have loaned that one to a friend who has taken it all over the world and it still takes great photos. Problems: The only issue I see is the strap for ...

After 3 years of of hard use, and still going strong, I had to write a review for my FZ30. Picture quality goes from good to excellent if you know what you're doing. I suggest learning how to shoot using shutter, or aperture priority, and even program mode instead of using the Automatic settings for best results. Also, don't use automatic white balance. Pick your settings, it's easy to find them. I like the placement of the LCD to EVF button, as I keep the LCD screen facing out, with a nice ...

Some of the negative comments I've read about this camera amaze me! I've owned the FZ 30 since January 2006 and have taken 8230 photos thus far. The FZ 50 is one camera I refused to buy as many of the great features of the FZ 30 weren't included so I'm waiting for the newer model due in May this year (2008). I've found the FZ 30 to be very responsive, intuitive and easy to use. I'm more than happy with the image quality and have had many a photo published in newspapers and glossy trade ...

I've had this camera for almost 2 years and so far it's been perfect for a prosumer camera. It's the closest to a DSLR I'll probably ever own. Problems: None so far... :o)

Excellent camera Problems: Noisy at high ISO, sometimes theres a problem of focusing in low light. Video is in MOV format which, personally, i dont like, but thats not really a problem. Overall it a fantastic camera!
