Please forgive me if this is an idiot question. I am an old age pensioner who's main interest is photography. I would rate myself as reasonably competent photographer. I live near the sea in North Wales and mainly shoot scenic scenes and wildlife.  I have owned an FZ150 since they first came out. My question is...... Will I see any major benefits if I upgrade to the FZ1000? Thank you in advance. John.

Hi all, I have an fz1000 which has become my best friend, (replacing my mirrorless apsc and lenses) and I have taken many "bird at feeder" photos that I am very happy with. However, out in the field,  with full zoom (not digital zoom, I don't go there) I can get "bird in far away bushes" shots that are good enough for id purposes, but not good enough to just enjoy and share like I did with my old fz150 or fz200  (btw, looking back over the years at my bird images, to my eyes, the fz150 did...

I am mathematically challenged, so I hope someone will help me out here. The goal: shoot pictures of subjects far away with as much detail as possible. The choice: 12mp bridge camera with up to 600mm equiv. zoom, 1/2.3" sensor (FZ150) or 20mp camera with up to 250mm equiv. zoom, 1" sensor (ZS100). The question: will I get longer "reach" by using maximum zoom on the FZ150 or by using the maximum zoom on the ZS100 and cropping?  In other words, which camera will allow me to get the most detail...

Hi there, my 1st post in this section of the forum...I tend to "lurk" for the most part, but try to be active now an again! Ive just got a V1/FT1 and J1 recently, so was wondering what to expect in regards to image quality for close up/macro photography. My subjects being Butterflies/Reptiles/Dragonflies/Bugs etc. I have a D700, and both the nikon macro/micro 105mm VR lens, an also a Sigma 150mm F/2.8 APO DG macro lens too. But to be honest, most of my close up/macro work is shot using a...

Hi all, I have just got hold of a used FZ150 and having trouble attaching the lens hood.  I have looked at the manual and also read other threads on this forum which say that you have to twist the lens hood surprisingly firmly until it clicks into place, but if I try to do this, it just goes 'past' being tight and goes back to being completely loose. Any suggestions gratefully received, thanks. John

I got good deals with both EPL-5 and Panasonic G5 (both with kit lenses). Am considering to get a walk around lens for travelling, M.Zuiko 14-150 (without image stabilizer) or Panasonic 14-140 (with built in I.O.S.), same lens can fit both camera. Do anyone has experience about these 2 lenses? Because prices are almost equal on eBay. Besides there is a older version starting with F4, newer with F3.5.  Price difference almost triple, do the newer lens work 3 times better than the older one? I...

For the past 9 years I've been a happy user of the Panasonic FZ series of cameras, specifically the FZ7, FZ28 and FZ150 (my current camera). After four years of using the FZ150 I'm about ready to upgrade my camera again, specifically to improve on the following points: The FZ150's pretty poor low light performance The FZ150's mediocre dynamic range The option to use a shallower DOF than the FZ150's 1/2.3" sensor allows Better image quality Better focusing speed, especially in low light For...

Has anyone else had focusing problems with the FZ150? recently I have had problems with the zoom, it wont focus on subjects in zoom and subjects look out of focus. Its not even zoomed all the way and it does it. It wont focus on the subject but on grass or objects in background sometimes as well even though I have the subject in the focus box. Im not sure what to do about it. It started roughly a month ago I havent dropped the camera or used it in any different way. Did I accidently hit a...

i used to have an FZ150, and overall i quite liked it.  the one thing i didn't like about it was that the EVF couldn't keep up with medium to fast moving subjects like slower birds in flight or walking.  i'm wondering if the FZ200's EVF has a little faster refresh, and after searching for a while, i thought i'd just ask. --my old user profilehttp://www.dpreview.com/members/1742491492/overview
