For the past 9 years I've been a happy user of the Panasonic FZ series of cameras, specifically the FZ7, FZ28 and FZ150 (my current camera). After four years of using the FZ150 I'm about ready to upgrade my camera again, specifically to improve on the following points: The FZ150's pretty poor low light performance The FZ150's mediocre dynamic range The option to use a shallower DOF than the FZ150's 1/2.3" sensor allows Better image quality Better focusing speed, especially in low light For...

Has anyone else had focusing problems with the FZ150? recently I have had problems with the zoom, it wont focus on subjects in zoom and subjects look out of focus. Its not even zoomed all the way and it does it. It wont focus on the subject but on grass or objects in background sometimes as well even though I have the subject in the focus box. Im not sure what to do about it. It started roughly a month ago I havent dropped the camera or used it in any different way. Did I accidently hit a...

i used to have an FZ150, and overall i quite liked it.  the one thing i didn't like about it was that the EVF couldn't keep up with medium to fast moving subjects like slower birds in flight or walking.  i'm wondering if the FZ200's EVF has a little faster refresh, and after searching for a while, i thought i'd just ask. --my old user profilehttp://www.dpreview.com/members/1742491492/overview

Hi, I'm hoping that some of you guys here in the S & A forum might be able to help me. I"m off in a few months time to the New England, New Hampshire, Maine areas of the USA and part of this trip will be a few days staying at Cape Cod where we intend to go whale watching. Now I"ve never really done any sport or action photography before and was wondering if any of you could / would give me some "hints or tips" on how to help capture some good shots. I will be using a Panasonic FZ150 Bridge...

I have a Panasonic FZ150 and have used it for two years with good results. However, in the last few  weeks all of my photos of landscapes have been pixelated, with green colors oversaturated. I am a fairly accomplished photographer, so I know my shutter speed, ISO, et al are correct. It happens regardless of ISO, f-stop, or focus-mode. I did a control test today, trying AF-Macro vs. AF, ISO of 800 down to 200, several white balance settings, and no luck at all. I have run out of ideas, so I'd...

Over time, the ability to manufacture sensors with smaller pixels and higher pixel density (for higher resolution) has seen improvement in IQ as the technologies involved have improved. I personally am not a fan of the "megapixel wars" and have always believed (based on experience) that for a small, 1/2.3in sensor, 12mp was about the practical maximum. However, backside illuminated sensors are supposed to deliver higher S/N ratios, slightly larger pixels (due to the elimination of non-pixel...

I bought an FZ200 a couple of weeks ago to replace my FZ150 (which replaced my FZ35, which in turn replaced my FZ5). It feels like half the time I take the FZ200 out of the case, I have to refocus the viewfinder. I don't recall having to do that on my earlier cameras and was wondering if there's something different. Thanks
