How do I enable the live view histogram - assuming this is possible - I can't find my manual...?

Hello there, First I apologize if I don't post this in the right section of the forums. The problems I'm having is that the E-PL5 will often get stuck on a frame (when set on "Sequential" not Single) and then turn itself off. Then even if I turn it on sometimes it just won't work for minutes on end. Another problem, the kit lens (the only one I have) sometimes will not register with the camera. I'll take it off and put it back on a thousand times and nothing. Cleaned the register/sensor...

Apologies if this is something the forum has dealt with before. I ran a search for "shutter locks" and found nothing but an ocean of shutter SHOCK threads. Even a google search only turned up a single instance of this happening (a YouTube video), with no useful info on the cause or the cure. The camera has begun exhibiting a frequent but seemingly random shutter locking behavior. The shutter will be firing fine, and then it will fire and stick shut. After about 4 seconds, the camera powers...

Good Afternoon, I have never had photos printed.  I would like to print the odd photo to approximately 48 inches by 36 inches on canvas or paper.  Types of scenes may be portraits or landscape or underwater or astrophotography. What I would be grateful for is advice on whether there would be a noticeable difference in the print if the photo was taken on the Olympus EPL5 versus Canon 40D versus  the Canon 5D Mark II when the print will be large.  I own the Olympus EPL5 as well as the Canon 40D...

If you were going for a too-brief trip to Olympic National Park and wanted to minimize the gear you were going to take, what would you take? I've never been there, so I'm not really sure how to pack. I studied Flickr already to get an idea about what's there and mined the EXIF data to figure out what FLs folks used to obtain the shots I liked best. However, I thought I'd ask y'all if you had any advice. I have three M43 bodies (E-M5, E-M1, E-PL5) and an RX-1, and a variety of FL primes and...

Hello all!  This is my first post here and I am just getting into the world of photography and excited to learn from all of the veterans out there.  Let me start off by saying that I know very little. All of my cameras that I have purchased in the past have been on sale through groupon, or other discount options of $200 or less, and have all been your basic point and shoots. But after seeing some of the beautiful shots that some of you pros are capable of and the fact that I'm usually thought...

Hi guys, I just bought my EPL5 last May (and a little sad coz I found out the epl7 just came out) and last weekend I tried it out to take some photos. I happen to get some good pics and some pics that I'm not really happy about. I just thought the manual that comes with it is a little hard to understand. How do you guys adjust to keep it from taking wide angle (?) shots? Like this pic where we all looked fat ;-)? Also, I find it hard to take portraits even if it is turned to portrait mode-...

I am looking for a mirrorless camera that supports touch to magnify/zoom during video recording with my old, purely manual focus lenses. From this video I've learned that the Sony NEX 5N, for example, cannot do that as you can see on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byf6u9XyAYo&t=6m18s Can you confirm that the Panasonic GX7 can do that? Can you confirm that the Olympus PEN E-P5, PEN E-PL5 or OMD E-M1 can do that? Please, reply to this thread only when you can answer any of the above...

I have a EPL5 and a 19mm 2.8 Sigma lens and was wondering whats everyone's thoughts about them. I want to use them for portraits and for use when the sun is bright. I also want it for landscapes and water effects. I see lots of resourses on line but dont know what options are the best. I want something that works good and will last. any suggestions can help.

I looked here. Might have missed it. I tried a number of Google searches unsuccessfully. Went to B&H and Adorama and did not see any specific link for current 'specials'. Seems like I've missed out on some fantastic specials in the past. Of course, I'm mostly still a beginner and may be misapprehending the market at play here. Are these specials usually the case of either a camera/lens that is too new to judge by reviews and forum content and therefore a gamble, or a case of a camera/lens one...
