Hi ! I received a second hand E-PL3 from a serious vendor (no scam here). When i unpacked it and removed lens mount protection, shutter was open (normal). But when i put a charged battery, mounted stock 14-42mm, and started it, camera done the first startup shutter test...but just after, shutter is stuck closed. And stay like this, until i shutdown and restart again. Same without any lens mounted. Is there a possiblity of shutter protection bug, firmware bug (1.0 only) or anything else i...

Hello everyone, I'm new to posting (read dpreview quite often), but I have a problem with my 3-week old EM10. Today I tried changing the file size to RAW and realized the menu is "stuck", as in grey, and I am not able to change the current file size (L N). I tried different modes, from the menu as well as from live view, changing the SD card, resetting the camera (basic and full), but nothing seems to work. This is rather worrying. I upgraded from an Olympus E-PL3 which never ever gave me...

Hi all, first time poster hereMy trusty (sarcasm) e-pl3 shutter seems to have given up after around 6k clicks. It'll still close and open when the camera starts up, but emits a louder click, and more pronounced shock. When I take an exposure, it closes but doesn't reopen for the duration of the photo. As a result I get a nice dark frame before the camera shuts off. Any ideas? Off of warranty..

I have been using the Samyang 7.5mm f3.5 (micro 4/3rd mount) on my Olympus Em5 and Olympus EPL3 for quite some time and find it to be a very sharp lens even at wide apertures. And not only that its much sharper than the older Samyang 8mm f3.5 (designed for dslrs) which was very soft at f3.5 and had ok sharpness at f5.6. There was also the issue of flaring when shooting directly at light sources (such a street lights). Now its my understanding that the m4/3 mount uses only the centre of the...

Hello everyone, I just got my copy of panasonic 14-140 3.5-5.6 lens from b&h. found some issues with it. 1.  there is no warranty card and there is no serial number on the lens 2. the lens keep on making noise even when the camera is idle, unless you turn off the power. 3. after start using this lens the camera body (olympus epl3) start having focus hunting issue. Each time it would take 4~5 seconds before it can lock its focus. Even after Ii switch to a different lens the hunting issue...

I had a loan of a Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D lens fitted with an adapter that enabled me to mount it on my Olympus Pen Lite E-PL3. I found that this lens can take amazing photos and I learnt so much from using it. The lens was both demanding and rewarding. It was so much harder than with a 14-42 mm zoom to get the composition right; then a decision had to be made about aperture setting; and then there was a lot of effort to manually focus. Working with the lens and looking at the results...

Hello there, I have noticed that when I open photos in Adobe Lightroom (Library or Develop panes) after importing them from RAW format, they are noticeably different to the preview of the same picture at the Import stage. I am hoping someone might be able to explain why and will explain in more detail below: After importing photos from camera RAW I go to the Library view in Lightroom. I click on one of the preview thumbnails and it brings up the larger view of the individual photo. At this...
