As per title, are all the pin contact pads on the OMD & Pen hotshoes the same? Panasonic too? I've seen numerous postings by some M43 users (Oly, Pana & Fuji) having great success with Yongnuo RF603Cii remote triggers and the Yongnuo YN560iii flash. Armed with an EP5, Nissin Di622 flash and couple of RF603Cii controllers, I've had no luck getting 603on camera to trigger the flash. Not sure if I have a dud trigger or the EP5 has different hotshoe connections? DIP switches in 603s are matched,...

One 603II in TRX mode fitted to a flash. Second 603II in TX mode is hand held. Pressing the remote button on hand held unit fires the flash, as hoped for. When the 2nd TX unit is then placed in the hotshoe of my Oly EP5, pushing the same remote button does not trigger the flash. Removing the TX unit from camera and pressing the button and again, it fires the flash no problem. Thus the wireless aspect is functioning. Just curious to know please if this is the experience of other 603II users....

An interchangable lens camera that compact with a viewfinder is just a dream come true. But once I saw the resolution being only 1,166,000 I have doubts on whether I can tolerate with this resolution. Even the RX100 III has higher resolution than this. I have used the Sony A3000 before and the EVF is just a nightmare, but given it's price it's a fair trade. But from what I heard the GM5 won't be cheap given pre-order price is almost $900 on Amazon 0.o . A 2nd hand E-PL5/6 is currently at low...

Think I have pretty good grasp of p5 menus now, but when the camera powers up, top right hand corner of the display shows a rectangle, with 3'stars' superimposed. Anyone know what this means? Haven't found in manual or menus. Paul

Hi folks, Is there a hardware reset function for the Olympus E-P5 that I can activate at power-up? I seem to get half way there by holding the OK button at power up, but not all the way there. Situation: The camera worked fine on Saturday. I powered it up on Sunday morning and I get this: Rear LCD activates with blurry screen, but absolutely no information text or icons Aperture blades rattle (rattlesnake sound) Screen goes blank Camera unresponsive If I hold the OK button when I power on,...

I own both cameras and have just gotten to tweak the settings from its default. For optimum jpeg quality, I've read here that some settings need to be adjusted so I did these below: Sharpness -1 Noise Reduction OFF Auto White Balance: Warm Color OFF Gradation AUTO But I cannot seem to find any recommended settings for both Contrast and Saturation. I stumbled upon an old thread about the E-P3 where the users recommended Contrast -2 and Saturation -1. Do these newer models have better processor...

I just read something in another post that caused a question. Can I use the EVF-4 AND the built-in flash at the same time on the E-P5? And can I use the flash as the master with a remote flash and still use the EVF-4? TIA Michael --Michael BowerAshburn, VA

I am looking for a mirrorless camera that supports touch to magnify/zoom during video recording with my old, purely manual focus lenses. From this video I've learned that the Sony NEX 5N, for example, cannot do that as you can see on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byf6u9XyAYo&t=6m18s Can you confirm that the Panasonic GX7 can do that? Can you confirm that the Olympus PEN E-P5, PEN E-PL5 or OMD E-M1 can do that? Please, reply to this thread only when you can answer any of the above...

I'm stuck with a problem.  I can't get WiFi sharing to work.  I can make a connection between the camera and the phone, and use the phone to control the camera.  But, the only photos I can transfer from camera to phone are snaps I take using the phone to activate the shutter on the camera.  It seems I don't know how to set a photo as shared.  I think I should be able to do this in the "review" display of the camera's display but I can't figure out how to do it.  Please tell me it's something...

Macx wrote: For me, one of the major advantages my E-M5 has with legacy glass is the in-body image stabilisation (IBIS). It works, and it works well, even if you have to manually dial in the focal length. It lacks focus peaking, so I rely on a magnified view to nail focus, but the way I have set up the camera, this is just a button press away and since the magnified view is set up to be stabilised it works well enough for me. Hi Macx, I remember your excellent and meaningful comments about...
