Hi folks, Is there a hardware reset function for the Olympus E-P5 that I can activate at power-up? I seem to get half way there by holding the OK button at power up, but not all the way there. Situation: The camera worked fine on Saturday. I powered it up on Sunday morning and I get this: Rear LCD activates with blurry screen, but absolutely no information text or icons Aperture blades rattle (rattlesnake sound) Screen goes blank Camera unresponsive If I hold the OK button when I power on,...

I own both cameras and have just gotten to tweak the settings from its default. For optimum jpeg quality, I've read here that some settings need to be adjusted so I did these below: Sharpness -1 Noise Reduction OFF Auto White Balance: Warm Color OFF Gradation AUTO But I cannot seem to find any recommended settings for both Contrast and Saturation. I stumbled upon an old thread about the E-P3 where the users recommended Contrast -2 and Saturation -1. Do these newer models have better processor...

I just read something in another post that caused a question. Can I use the EVF-4 AND the built-in flash at the same time on the E-P5? And can I use the flash as the master with a remote flash and still use the EVF-4? TIA Michael --Michael BowerAshburn, VA

I am looking for a mirrorless camera that supports touch to magnify/zoom during video recording with my old, purely manual focus lenses. From this video I've learned that the Sony NEX 5N, for example, cannot do that as you can see on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byf6u9XyAYo&t=6m18s Can you confirm that the Panasonic GX7 can do that? Can you confirm that the Olympus PEN E-P5, PEN E-PL5 or OMD E-M1 can do that? Please, reply to this thread only when you can answer any of the above...

I'm stuck with a problem.  I can't get WiFi sharing to work.  I can make a connection between the camera and the phone, and use the phone to control the camera.  But, the only photos I can transfer from camera to phone are snaps I take using the phone to activate the shutter on the camera.  It seems I don't know how to set a photo as shared.  I think I should be able to do this in the "review" display of the camera's display but I can't figure out how to do it.  Please tell me it's something...

Macx wrote: For me, one of the major advantages my E-M5 has with legacy glass is the in-body image stabilisation (IBIS). It works, and it works well, even if you have to manually dial in the focal length. It lacks focus peaking, so I rely on a magnified view to nail focus, but the way I have set up the camera, this is just a button press away and since the magnified view is set up to be stabilised it works well enough for me. Hi Macx, I remember your excellent and meaningful comments about...

How do you make a small change to a myset and then save it (as if the options for saving a myset should include "update with current settings")?  The only way I can figure to do it is to (1) 'set' the myset you want to modify, (2) make the change, (3) clear (reset) the myset, and (4) then save it again.  This works for me, but it seems unintuitive and too complex for what should be a simple operation(?)

I currently have E620 and E400 bodies with 14-54, 11-22, and 70-300 lenses. My local store has an Olympus PEN E-P5 twin lens kit for sale at a good price , €499. Would this be a viable upgrade for me. Most importantly , would my lenses work OK, assuming I bought the adapter. I am keen to buy in a bricks and mortar shop rather than online and this is the only Olympus camera available locally. BTW I do know about the OMD but it is way out of my price range. Thanks for adive

The front dial on my E-P5 is giving me fits. When I spin it to adjust exposure (I use it as exposure compensation in A mode), it does not always register with each click. For example, I will rotate the dial to drop exposure 1/3 stop, and nothing happens. I rotate it again, and the exposure drops. Then it might work for a while. Sometimes I can spin the dial several clicks before it actually does something. Am I missing something? Is this normal behavior at any time? Can I only spin the dial...

Hello, So I just got my first real camera. An Olympus EP-5 and what a lovely camera. It takes great photos and all that stuff, but you already know that. See, I am a newbie, when it comes to photography generally, but I want to learn. In addition to that I have a few questions regarding the lens M.ZUIKO 17mm f/1.8.  I am having a hard time figuring out how to do a normal zoom with the camera. It seems like I am only able to press the zoom button where it goes all the way to a 5x zoom where...
