-step forward in image quality over "large" sensors 1/1.8 and 1/1.6 in compact cameras -rock-solid buildup -very nice retro-look -720p videos with nice DOF (although not for serious film-making) -future of compact-cameras rely on 4/3 technology Problems: -slow and noisy auto-focus -i prefer Panasonic GF1 over this camera

THis camera is simply fun. I love taking it out during the bright daylight hours using the Grainy B&W Art setting. The Pinhole & Pop Art setting are also fun. Problems: Huge problem! Pros : Beautiful design and very well built. Very good image quality, close to that of consumer DSLR's. A LOT of custom settings and creative possibilities. Cons : Slow AF, slow start-up. Clunky & non-intuitive menu layout. Lack of optical viewfinder turned out to be a bigger problem than I anticipated. Composing at arms-length just doesn't feel the same as looking through a viewfinder, resulting in snapshot-style pictures. Olympus Master 2 software is a joke. Problems: None
