I need to update my E-M5 firmware from version 2 to version 2.1. (in order to get better AF precision with the 40-150mm). Reading the instructions : I'm supposed to use the last version of the camera updater, or the firmware update can't be achieved. Well I look at the actual version installed on my PC and it is version 1.03. Then I look at the Four-Third.org website (http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/download/software/camera/cameradl.cfm ) and it tells me that I can...

Hey, First of I was just about to ditch my Pentax gear and change to Olympus. Im quite disappointed with my K5iis even though its a great camera. The autofocus is just not working for me as well as id like it to and the size of the camera meant i could never really take in anywhere. So obviously the next close thing would be the Olympus em5 and with the mark 2 coming out I thought that would be the way to go. I just don't really want to sell all my beloved Pentax gear and the original em5 is...

Hello, I am moving up from advanced point and shoot Nikons and trying to take my photo/video skills to a higher level.  I have tried the Nikon 5500 and 7100 and the Canon 70d - all of which are heavy and loud (shutter-wise).  I was pointed to the mirrorless and checked out Sony A7s (too expensive for me) and the Sony a77ii - which had all the features but weighs a ton and is designed for someone with HUGE hands - I couldn't touch half the buttons with my reach on it.   I learned about the...

I noticed last night when taking a picture in a dimly lit room, that my M5 was flashing the ISO number 4000 when I had it set to Auto ISO. But the upper limit was 25600! The manual says it flashes when it cannot take a good photo with that ISO. Is this a bug in the software, or do you know of a good explanation? It took a decent picture and reported 4000 ISO in the EXIF.

I currently use a Panasonic GH3 for both video and stills but mainly for video. My original intention was to start saving up for the GH4 but I found someone looking to sell his rarely used OM-D E-M5 (body) for $350 which I think would be a great walk-around camera for stills. Do I really need it at the moment? Mhmm not really but for $350? What do you guys think? --- YK

Except for the difference in maximum aperture at all focal lengths, is there a big difference in image quality between the two, at say f4.0-f5.6 or so?

Hey guys. I’m a beginner photographer who shoots with an Olympus OMD EM5. I’m interested in buying my first off camera flash to get into what I think is called strobist photography? I’ve tried to do some research but in the end I’m still uncertain on how to go about deciding which flashgun I should invest in first and which accessories I should buy with it. I was hoping fellow M43 users who’re already using off camera flashes could advise me on this. I see that there are flashes as cheap as...

My beloved OMD suffered a brief, but deadly kiss with a metal pole. The result being that screen glass is shattered and the display ain't working. Judging by the construction, the panel should be fairly easy to change, but I can't find a replacement LCD (or more correctly, OLED) panel. The site most reffered to in similar posts lists it out of stock. So, does anyone know where I would be able to order a genuine replacement LCD panel for E.M5? -----
