I am just learning to use a new used OM-D E-5 with the 12-50mm zoom leans.  I would like to set it to certain focal lengths in order to compare the camera with others I own. For example, set it to the 35mm equivalent of 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, or 90mm.  Is there any way to get the camera or the lens to indicate what focal length it is zoomed to?

Will a YONGNUO YN-622C-TX ETTL with a YN560 IV set as master be able to trigger YN560II via optical as slaves... I already own the YN560II (3 of them) and I trigger with non yongnuo rf-triggers on manual... So if I get the 622C-TX and sync RF to the 560 IV and set power for various groups... will the 560IV do a pre-flash optical out and trigger / set the power on the 560II... or will I have to get the YN-622 to adjust values on groups or individual speedlights... one other thing... I shoot a...

Dear all, (1) I am looking for a microphone to attach to my OM-D E-M5 to better record sound along with video. I wrote to B&H and, as usual, received a rapid response . They noted that Olympus has a product  http://bhpho.to/1zSKjx2    (SEMA-1, $55))   but recommended a Rode microphone ($200): http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/744768-REG/Rode_VIDEOMIC_PRO_VideoMic_Pro_Compact_Shotgun.html At $200, the price tag is a bit high, but maybe it is worth it. Has anyone used the Rode? Any...

Hello, I have just got my long awaited 40-150 2.8 PRO. I live with OM-D E-M5 and do not think about changing it at the time being. First thing that I noticed is that image stabilization at the long end is not as efficient as I expected. It looks like the body is not able to absorb minor high-frequency jitter. The shaking is quite heavy + sharp and what is interesting it is mostly horizontally oriented. I tried all IS modes 1-3, Shutter button half pressed - No difference. I turned off IS and I...

Hi, Could someone who has the E-M5 wrapping case from Olympus tell me how bulky it is, and how easy it is to use. Ie is it fast to get the camera in and out? Up to now I always travel light with my E-M5 wrapped in a microfiber cloth and in the top of my bag. So wondering if the wrapping case is a better solution. Cheers, Menno

My EM5 has a message displayed "No Connection" when I turn it on (pg 101 in manual). Probably related to HDMI cable connection, although when I use the USB/Multi cable connection and select "print" the same message appears. It is impossible to remove... except temporarily, when I select Yes/OK option it goes away for a couple of seconds and then reappears, when I select Cancel < the screen goes blank and does not reappear until I power off/on. I used the USB cable connection, which seems to...

How exactly does Face priority AF/pupil detection AF work on EM-5? What's with these white/green borders? How do I know when the camera has actually focused on the eyes? The manual says: "• When the camera focuses on the face in the white border, the border will turn green. • If the camera is able to detect the subject’s eyes, it will display a green frame over the selected eye. (pupil detection AF)." The thing is when I see the white border over the face, I press shutter release half way...

What does this indicator mean on the EM5? My sister is currently at a wedding and is worried about this symbol showing up whilst she is using video mode. She says it only shows on video mode, it blinks orange showing low battery icon with an small arrow pointing to an sd card. This shows whilst recording video, but on picture mode and all other modes the battery indicator is full. She has also tried swapping batteries and it does the sam thing on video mode, I was wondering if anyone could...

Hi guys, I've been using my EM5 for a couple of months now and I think IS has stopped working. There is still this constant quiet hum when the camera is on but when you half-press the shutter button nothing changes. I mean with the shutter button half-pressed, the camera used to compensate shaking, making distinctive louder noise in the process. Now, even when I exaggerate shaking, that does not happen, there's just the hum. I've taken some pictures at low shutter speed with IS on and off,...

Hi, i bought a M4/3 to FD adapter to use with my old Canon FD lens. My problem is: When i mount the adapter, the screen turns black. It registers light when nothing is mounted. I can also take a photo when the adapter is barely touching the mount on the camera (i can even get the focus right), but when i start to screw it on, the the viewfinder goes black. I've tested turning the apature up and down like olympus costumer service told me to, but nothing is working... This is the...
