Hello, I have not had my Sony a6000 very long and I'm just learning how to use it (and photography in general). Right now all I have is the kit lens 16-50mm but I have read that that the Sony 50mm f/1.8 is a great lens to have. I have a blog, so it seems like the 50mm lens would be good for that, but right now I am concerned about an upcoming trip to Amsterdam. Would the kit 16-50mm or 50mm f/1.8 lens be good for normal vacation photography (buildings, general scenery, landscapes, my...

Bottom Line: I'm thinking of replacing the MX-1 with a G9X. I think the 1" sensor will make up for the dimmer lens, and the pocket size will have me carrying it more, thus not relying on my iPhone as much. Downsides: Wife will be a little mad I bought another camera and it is not as beautiful as the MX-1. (this is the price for true compactness, it seems, as the Ricoh GR is also ugly) Full Story follows: Years ago, when I was more "serious" of a photographer, I shot my dSLR . (APS-C sensor, 6...

I'm a linux user (Mint) and I've been using UFraw for years (version 0.19.2), but it does not have WB presets for my XZ-2 I've been getting by "okay" (using camera WB, auto WB or manual), but it would be nice to be able to choose from a drop-down of XZ-2 WB presets. There are newer versions of UFraw for Ubuntu (or a "ppa", whatever that is), but I don't know if that will include the XZ-2 WB preset. DarkTable has preset for XZ-1, but not 2. Can anyone recommend a linux friendly raw editor that...
Shooting a Oly XZ1 I shoot for Ebay and other forums...I shoot against a black Felt back drop about 4' x 2' and all my pictures come back dark black, need to use extreme Brightness in Photo shop to highlight my item ???? what am I doing wrong...shooting in a bright room. Chuck
I need to upgrade from my worn out Olympus XZ1. I have narrowed it down to Canon G7X and Canon G16. It's a choice between image quality and ease of manual controls. Any guidance welcome. Does G7X screen display exposure adjustment as it is applied? Main camera is Canon 60D,

I am not sure if anyone can answer this, as its a pretty specific question, but maybe someone can advise. I have a Olympus XZ1 that I kinda got given. I carry it around with me most of the time in case I see something interesting. Its pretty good, I don't mind it, but the menu system sucks IMO. The pictures are pretty good for what it is. The low light ability of the Olympus frustrates me, despite it being 1.8... The ISO handling to me anyway, is pretty ordinary. I shoot in Raw and try and...

i have a GoPro and just do not like the ergonomics and stills output. I love my EM1 and am not afraid to carry it in fact I do in a dry bag for use from shore line. What I am hoping to do is be anle to shoot from my Stand up paddle board and also during adventure race environments (muddy, wet, dusty, harsh) i haven't tried the tough series of camera but my wife has an older XZ1 and it is a fine little camera so I assume the tough series will be similar. I was also contemplating setting up...
Hello, I primarily shoot with Pentax DSLRs with all those "gem" like Pentax limited primes. I also have Ricoh GR and Olympus XZ-1. Though my GR provides outstanding IQ in aspects, I love the out of camera JPEG color produced by my XZ-1. So, seriously considering to get one M4T camera with some prime lenses. I have checked OMD E-M10 and it perfectly suits my needs (IBIS is a must for me as I am used to that feature with my Pentax gears for hand held shooting). Having said above, It would be...
