I bought this Camera during a vacation - My wife wanted underwater pictures. The Camera is working perfect under water - No problems there. But the lag time of this camera makes it close to useless. I have pictures of fish tails and splash rings from jumping Dolphins - and believe me - I tried hard to catch the right moment. This camera is only good for taking still pictures. Problems: Lag times over 1.5 sec reminds me of the first digital cameras from the last century.

Bought this camera as a underwater snap and shoot for upcoming Hawaii trip with some snorkeling planned. I like the small size (my wife refuses to carry a "big" camera). It seemed to have good specs and would do what we wanted on trip. The buttons are a little small, especially the power button and the menu didn't seem well laid out and easy to move through. The camera is very slow to make shots with and the delay seems to take forever. Problems: I didn't get a chance to review it's ...

I enjoy snorkling, and the -10m spec was ideal to me. However, the overall terribly slow response of this camera, from shutter lag to autofocusing reminds me of the first/second generation digital cameras I bougth and decided that digital photography was not for me. Very solidly built. Reasonable picture quality. Problems: Very, very slow start up,shutter response, autofocus and download to memory. Internal instrucuion manual useless. Would not recommend to anyone.

The 8010 is my 4th waterproof camera. I have a Pentax WP33, Pentax 720SW, Olympus 1030. I bought the 8010 to replace the 1030 which looks like it’s been dragged behind a truck – but that’s ok, it’s not meant to be a fashion statement. I need a tough camera and the 8010 has a better waterproof door & lock. I’ll be happy if I get two years from the 8010. There will always be a better camera released after you’ve just purchased one. The 14mp resolution gives acceptable images. A4’s come out ok ...

I purchased the camera just before my holidays as a supplement to my Canon DSLR. I wanted a solid waterproof camera to carry all time without being worried about rain, dust and temperature. The construction is OK, it is a solid camera and there is more than enough features. The menu is logic and easy to use and understand. Battery life is OK but not overwhelming. Problems: The camera turned out to be an annoying experience. In one word it is SLOW. The start up time is long, the AF is slow, ...
