Excellent camera! No need for expensive telephoto zoom for shooting landscapes. Acceptable noise level. Good choice.

I was actually a little worried before I had it in my own hands. I heard many complaints about it's jumpy, hard to control zoom. But first of all, you must remember that this is not a DSLR, even though it has a zooming ring (and it turns into the oposit direction). Do not expect it to react like one. Treat it as it's meant to, and it will do just fine! (especially after the firmware update). It's still one of the fastest cameras regarding zooming and focusing in it's class. Great feel, easy ...

Initially after coming from C750, am frustrated by the images from the SP570, but realized that this camera has different menu configurations from my C750. Have to read the manual and know how its features work and after 8 months of use, I found that this is a very good camera with long zoom taking better shots than my C750. To get good photos from any digital camera, one has to study and understand the user's manual with regards to the setting required to get good shots. The default settings ...

I must say that mix of a very high 20x zoom along with the 10.1 mpix remains the best feature. Training on mannual mode is excellent and good way to begin serious photography. A camera with this zoom capability can give the beginner a spectrum to experiment and choose one's final category such as landscape, potrait etc etc.. The scene modes are real good. Excellent build quality. I have been carrying it daily in my backpack to office and back but so far no worries. The size too is big enough ...

This a very good camera. I'm still learning about all the features. Last week I took a night pciture with MF, 15" and it captured the snow of a mountain, Great!!! The big problem is the AF, it takes to much time to focus specially at night or with artificial light. Olympus should improve the firmware for the AF. Problems: AF

Am I using the same camera that the other reviewers are using?? All of the reviews seem to be very positive compared to my experience. Auto mode was far from reliable. It focused on anything but what I was aiming at. Zoom ring, same as everyone else. I took pictures of a red fox while golfing. Using the burst high speed mode, I took about 150 pictures while braced against a tree. The percentage of usable pics was horrible. This animal was laying down in shaded but well lit conditions. I've ...

Being used to using an Oly SLR I just love the build quality as much as the IQ. Pictures are accurate in color response and look crispy. If you'd like to travel lite or compact, this is your camera. It perfectly fits in most hands, as their SLR's do, the knobs are where you'd expect them to be. Also an FL-36 is great value for your prints. Problems: The big difference between my SLR and this 570 is the speed and accuracy of focussing ( mostly at the long end of the zoom) In the end the IQ is ...

I have had the SP570UZ for about two months now, and have been shooting a lot with it. My last camera was a film Manolta SLR with a 28-80 3.5-5.6 lens; the UZ is my first true digital camera. I had, however, used several diffrent digitals at work and family events, but they were all "other peoples cameras". When shopping, I was looking for the best IQ in a smaller-than-dSLR package, & with a good wide angle lense. I was NOT looking for a huge zoom. Overall, I like it. the zoom range is ...

Good camera with features rich full control, so so photo quality, good price ! -Feel good in hand, hand grip nice to hold, the black colour like pro! -The 20 x Zoom is workable in sunny bright day, manual control also work well , auto focus workable too! -RAW mode slow but i can live with it ( with 2GB M type olympus original XD card, some others user said it about 50 % faster with H type High speed card, but will lost Panaroma function if it is not Olympus brand.), coz i seldom take in RAW. ...
