Cant believe I forgot to put a review here. I have owned this camera for over two years and Im still happy with it. It was purchased as a interim between my compact Minolta F100 and when I finally bought a DSLR. The C8080 has a great lens, great image IQ, fast start up, long battery life, very good low light performance and easy to use. Feels good in the hand and it is built well. Always happy with its results and most mistakes are generally my fault... :) Problems: Was a bit pricey when I ...

I own this camera since Feb 2005. It is a pont-&-shoot that is as close to an SLR as you can get at the time of purchase. I like it because it is sophiticated enough to make good picture and yet small enough for travelling with. I really love the remote that comes with the unit. The wide angle lens is a great feature. and the tilt LCD view screen is great for shooting things at difficult angle. Problems: Poor high ISO performance. Slow shutter response in most settings Don't try to shoot ...

I've been using this camera for more than two years. Realy nice device. I like to travel, so i'ts almost ideal for this purpose - not so huge as DSRL cameras, perfect grip - less risk for hands tremor, fantastic lens - fast and sharp. No problems with rain and snow - the body is solid and sealed enough. Very clever blitz. Perfect macro. It covers almost 90% of my photoactivity. Problems: EVF is disaster Noise over ISO 140 AF in dark circumstances is not fast enough. For this problems I'm ...

I purchased the C8080 two years ago, shortly after it came out and it was responsible for rekindling an interest in photography, which I share with my kids. I have an underwater housing for it and on a trip to Little Cayman came back with a number of phenomenal images of local sea life. Also captured were number of very impressive images of iguanas. With the view finder up so I could look at it (straight down) The C8080 was positioned on the ground in front of an iguana and the shutter ...

I bought the C-8080 for moments I do not want to carry my DSLR s along with me on business trips. Metal construction for the body is excellent. The C-8080 use the same batteries as my E-1 and E-330 and that is a plus. I particularly like the ability to have 4 custom camera settings that can be easily accessed. Ergonomics is excellent for smaller hands. I can handhold it to 1/4 second and still take sharp photos. ED f2.4 lens is amazing, clearly the best of the P/S that I have (compared to ...

I've had the camera for about a year. It's been a very good performing camera, giving me many high quality shots with beautiful life like colors right out of the camera. The camera is incredibly solid, professional looking unit, and fits very well in my hands. It has a huge lens which distinguishes it from most point-and-shoots so people often take notice and will think you are a serious photographer (not a bad thing at all). The 8080 is the ideal camera for me, and others who happen to be ...

Very nicely done body. After 15 months sensor overloaded with dust. Pixel Mopping doesn't work anymore. No way to get good picture quality with iso more than 50 . Lot of nose : color and regular. Original program / came with camera/ has very weak noise filter. When Noise cleaned off Image looks SOUPY. I believe image sensor too small for 8.0 Mpix output. You may check same Camera -Canon PowerShoot 8.0 pix - sensor LARGE and Quality Higher. Problems: Dust,Noise, small sensor,RAW turbo works too ...

As someone who is just an amature photograher, I use my camera equipment more like the average shooter. I found learning all about light is the most important thing in being able to take great pictures. I have looked at Fuji F30 recently and the new Canon S3is and all I can say is that there is no improvement of noise or image quality over this camera. Yes they have strengths that could compliment the 8080, however you have to take into account the quality of your pictures. After the latest ...
