This was my first digital camera. I choosed to buy this model after reading any reviews available at that time on Internet. Now I can make some user review about it. The camera itself is a good bargain, if found at discounts. It's a pretty simple camera, which provides good quality images if used in places with a lot of sunlight. If used in shadows or anyways in low light, the contrast and looks of the picture drastically lowers (but this is valid for any camera). The 1600x1200 pixel mode ...

This camera was my introduction to digital photography. At first I only used it sparingly, but as I started using it more, and learned to adjust the white balance and exposure compensation manually, I started getting really great photos with it. The 2.1mp ccd is limiting in terms of print, but for web photography, it's just fine. I'm looking to move up to the next level now, an slr-like digi-cam, but what I've leared about digital photography from this great little camera is invaluable. Chec ...

Very rugged little camera, great intro to digital photography, great in low light compared to film cameras. I've taken over 10,000 shots with this thing in the past nine months, and it's held up well. Still experimenting with the settings; I'm doing more manual overrides than I used to, and am playing with resolution and image quality settings, too. This thing gives you a lot of growing room if you're new to digicams. I carry it around with me pretty much wherever I go at this point. Lens is ...

I HAVE REVIEWED 5 DIGITAL CAMERAS IN THE PAST YEAR- TOSHIBA 25 , NIKON 950 , KODAK 3900 , OLYMPUS 3000 , AND THE OLYMPUS D- 510. THE 510 HAS PRODUCED THE SHARPEST IMAGES OF THE FIVE. ONE EXCEPTION: THE NIKON 950 WHICH PRODUCED THE FINEST MACRO SHOTS. THE 510 IS NOT THE MOST USER FRIENDLY- I CONSIDER IT A WORKHORSE WITH LITTLE AESTHETIC APPEAL BUT GOOD FOR THE DOLLAR. THE KODAK PRODUCED THE BEST COLOR- A BIT SATURATED BUT PRETTY, SHARPNESS IS GOOD BUT NOT THE BEST.THE KODAKS ARE VERY EASY TO ...

-Great point-n-shoot camera -Easy to use features Bought the D-510 on ebay - $199 with a camerabag and 64mb card -Battery life is great. people that own this camera dont really know that other expensive digi cams eat batteries like crazy. not the 510. i was charging the batteries on my digital SLR olympus camera 4 or 5 times while my d-510 was still on the first set of batteries. that is a huge difference in battery life. TIPS for Beginners: -with the lens open, double clicking the screen ...

both good and bad. as an amateur, i like the ease of use and the outdoor photo's are excellent! But, the quality of indoor shots or outdoor night shots is average to poor! Problems: outdoor night shots (scenery/skylines etc.) are not good! appear blurry and unfocused. indoor low-light not great either. wearing on front of camera from slide-door!

It is a pretty good beginners cam if you're only going for daytime outdoor photographing. The camera is very easy to use but image quality is terrible in low-light conditions (nighttime or indoors). The camera has great construction though. It feels pretty solid for such a small camera and all the buttons have that nice quality touch. Problems: Images get very noisy in low-light environments. Batterytime is too short when you use the LCD.

I know that I shouldn't post a review after just a week after buying this camera...but in this week I've been testing (almost) all the features of this camera...so here are my opinions: Great camera for the money..for beginners..a very good travel companion (128Mb card it's a must!)..easy to use..good quality pictures..good response (lag) times and very good conectivity (USB). Have two packs of accus and a good quick charger and head for taking pictures...outdoor you can use the Auto setting ...

The D-510 Zoom has been around a year and is still a current model. (Although the new smaller, lighter and more expensive D-520 may eventually take its place). The 510 takes excellent 2.1 MP pics up to 8x10. The camera is simple and easy to use if you read the included CD manual. Easy to transfer pics to computer. Great camera for novice and intermediate user. Highly reccomended Problems: Only from people who do not read manual and therefore do not know how to fully operate camera. I ...
