Good Evening! I am new to the forum but I really need some help! I have purchased a second hand Nikon D700 from one big photography website! They are selling second hand so thought it would be better and safer option then just buy it from strangers! The shutter actuation is on 5979 mint condition. I was really happy till I started to realize something weird going on. If I use CH in M mode and fire lets say 5 shots each shot is different?! It looks like it's bracketing . And not just that...

In experimenting around with my gear, I decided to compare my D700 and my pre1973, AI converted Nikkor 50mm 1.4 lens to my Fuji X-Pro 1 and 35mm 1.4. I wanted to compare their performance wide open. What I found was that the Nikon shot had, among other things, strong highlight blooming. Now I am wondering if this due to the D700 sensor or the old, pre multi coated lens? Both sample shots are 100% crops from raw files processed in Lightroom5, with the goal of producing the best image I could...

I have had some success in shooting sports but an having a problem getting matching colors from my Nikon D3 and a D700.  Despite the sensors being essentially the same and setting them to match, I get different color results.  The more I read, the more confused I get.  I don't have time to take hours processing as I shoot 3 or more games a week.  Can I fix this in the camera or is it a post processing function?

I am bidding on D700 with very low shutter count. Some of those have Chinese characters on the bottom sticker. Please someone explain to me how these Chinese versions come to eBay among many International version. Most of those are listed by Japanese sellers, but currently US seller is listing it too. eBay item number:271698393570 (Saint Paul, Minnesota) with B/H receipt I am showing two different bottom sticker: Left - x7 lines with Chinese characters            Right - x6 lines with all...

Good morning Nikonians :) I really need some help with using my D700. I have two concerns and both have to do with color rendition. I shoot uncompressed raw and use mostly 24-70 2.8 and 50 1.4 for portrait and people photos Smaller Concern: #1 Outdoors: No matter the lighting somehow it can never get it right. When taken under cloudy skies I get accurate but somewhat washed out colors (may be slightly overexposed). This is easily corrected in PP and I can batch process them. On sunny days...

I have D7000 with 35mm f/1.8 G DX, so called 'optimized combination for daily snapshot'. However, I feel somewhat uncomfortable with an AF at dark situation and a lot of noises even from ISO 400 or more with D7000. So I have concerned about changing my equipment from D7000 to D610 or D700. The reason why I considered D700 is that I have not that much money(actually I have just near $2,000~$2,200) but I can get a new D610 at $1,300 or used D700 at $1,100 in my country. However, If I go to...

Hello all, I'm thinking about getting a second hand D600. After the problems they had, they turned up in Japan pretty cheap. I think a lot of them got sent back to the dealer to get fixed, but then the dealer couldn't sell them as new again, and they have the whiff of faulty on them, so a second hand refurbished D600 (at a reputable retailer which usually sells new goods, which is why I think they are returned units) goes for about $1000 over here (100,000yen,) which is about the same as a...

Hi Folks Since my D700 has just failed for the second time in a year! (same problem TWICE! and without a sufficient explanation from the Nikon Repair Team as to the cause! - PLEASE speak to your customers NIKON and not just through some twit in a call centre!) I might have to consider a replacement. Many of the reviews state that the D750 might be an upgrade from a D700. But I'd like the opinion of some of you who have already taken this step....so a few Questions: I don't mind the 'down...
