My D750 has just (on the Melville loading dock 29 January, according to a telephone confirmation by UPS) arrived at Nikon for the "shadow" fix, which is for me more relevant for any, however unlikely, future sale of the body so that I can truly say it's been "fixed." I'm not a real fan (for my own endeavors) of shooting anywhere the Sun at the edge of the frame. let alone directly into the Sun, but I understand there are some out there who use this style professionally and/or artistically;...

Hi guys quick question for you. I am an a6000 guy with no experience with dslrs. My friend however just had a baby. He's using a d3100 with the kit lens for the first few days of pictures but my intuition tells me the d700 and "thousands of dollars in lenses" he inherited from his dad will take better pictures. Am I wrong in this assumption or is me telling him to start using the d700 a good piece of advice? He's a complete novice but is trying to learn quickly. I have no experience with the...

Quite lengthy post, so sorry for that, but thanks for taking the time to read it! I've been shooting a D7100 for about 4 months now and I am happy with it. But coming from a D300, I am still crying for the size and ergonomics of that body, not to mention the button layout. Not saying by any means that I don't like the D7100, I like it a lot, it's not uncomfortable to hold, especially since I use it with a grip, and I got used to the controls...mostly, I still get the "+" and "-" wrong...

Hi Folks, I have had both my D700 and D300 for quite some time, and up until yesterday I never had a need to use the built in intervalometer. Here is the situation. I set it up to start at a specific time. I wanted it to take a picture every 15 seconds for three minutes. No problem. set my interval at 15 seconds, 12 intervals with one picture each. What I would like to do is set up the camera to do the same thing I described above, but automatically repeat it every eight hours until I stop...

Hi all. I also posted this in the video forum but I was hoping to tap into the knowledge base here as well so I hope you don't mind. (I am a D300, D700 and D750 user). I am in need of a video camera for walk through (using flycam) architectural work. This is just for occasional times when needed on top of my commercial stills work. I have tested the Nikon D750 (because I have one available) but I'm not that happy with the jittering when panning left to right and also the out of focus areas...

My main camera is a D700, bag 'o lenses, etc. I have been using a Lumix ZS3 as a point and shoot and for underwater casual photography. I am looking to replace the ZS3 and am considering the V3. Can you guys give me any help in deciding whether or not the V3 would function as an easy p&s? I like the ability to change lenses but also am interested in the ability to put it in my pocket and go. Thank in advance.

So today I went up to do a shoot outside in the snow and everything was fine. My d700 was taking pictures and I wasn't having any issues with it. Prior to going out and taking pictures in the freezing cold, I read the other d700 users also did the same and didn't encounter any problems with it except for the battery draining faster than usual. Everything was well, and I wanted to charge my battery at home to soon notice that I cannot take the battery out, it is literally stuck inside my...

Sorry if this is wrong, it's my first time posting (anything). I'm looking at DSLR's for animal, rural, light and random happy snaps shooting, especially fast moving horses and waves as such. I need a fast shutter speed with a high FPS... I was looking at the Canon EOS 700D as it fitted most of my criteria but I have just been offered a Nikon D3000 for a very low price ($250 down from $350) So, 1. I'm a noob, sorry if I get completely lost! 2. What are the cons/pro's to each and how do they...

Recently I have been comparing the two camera systems I currently own, and use regularly, a D700 with a Katzeye focus screen that I use with legacy lenses (35-70 2.8d and a set of 1972 AI converted primes) and a Fuji X-Pro1 with a 18-55 and a set of 18,35,60 primes. In the course of this long term comparison I have come to some interesting realizations, but that isn't the purpose of this post. I have found issues with the Nikon gear that I am trying to categorize as to whether a change in...

Will a YONGNUO YN-622C-TX ETTL with a YN560 IV set as master be able to trigger YN560II via optical as slaves... I already own the YN560II (3 of them) and I trigger with non yongnuo rf-triggers on manual... So if I get the 622C-TX and sync RF to the 560 IV and set power for various groups... will the 560IV do a pre-flash optical out and trigger / set the power on the 560II... or will I have to get the YN-622 to adjust values on groups or individual speedlights... one other thing... I shoot a...
