I have the Nikon 1.4 and x2 teleconverters and have always been impressed with the x1.4. I have already reviewed my x2 TC III on DPR and will emphasise the requirement to only shoot in perfect lighting conditions. The Nikon AF-S TC17e II Teleconverter is a bit of a revelation in that I frequently see no difference in IQ between it and the x1.4 !! Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II
As a birder/photographer on a budget I am in the same boat as so many others who want the longest reach they can get, without the premium price of ‘Big Glass’.
