I don't want to write too much, but basically, I think getting a 400mm prime could be much lighter + better image quality solution. Hi. Not finding anything in the DP forums so I'm wondering if anyone can direct me to a 1.4x teleconverter that will work with my Nikon lenses?  I have an AF-S 18-200mm f3.5/5.6G DX, a AF-VR 80-400mm f/4.5/5.6D ED and a AF-S 28-70mm f/2.8G N lenses. Mainly I am interested in adapting the 400 for bird and animal shots, probably some closeup stuff too. Nikon states their TC converters will not work since the elements mount to close.
