This is a great and sharp lens, but the problem is, that once a year, you will have to take it to Nikon to get oil cleaned of the aperture lamellae. If you don't - the oil will cause drag, and stop down too slowly, and all photos (except the ones taken wide open of course) will be over exposed. The smaller the aperture you have chosen, the more the images will be over exposed. This is a known error to this lens. Nikon i Denmark (sort of like Bangladesh) denies any knowledge about this issue. ...

i feeled strange when i mount it to my D7000,so tight. If you have FX, mybe not bad,wide angle ,small size....., if you have DX and won't change to FX in 2 years, pls don't buy this, should DX lens , don't be hesitating. Problems: ring hit hand. focus noisy also.

I purchased my 35 f/2 a number of years ago when I'd just moved to digital and to mount on my D80 as a normal lens. It was a great walkaround lens for a number of years even after upgrading to my D300. I often carried as well as my 85 f/1.4 AFD around towns on vacation. I used it as a true tourist lens. I currently own a Nikon D90 and I wanted a 50mm standard lens like I have for my Nikon FE film SLR.
