it's amazing lens for what you pay for , sharp and great it's not for low light though but it's amazing for everything else . Problems: slow

Pros: +light weight, +auto-focus is good. +Performance/price is very good Cons: -Doesn't have VR, but the range of lens is able compensate it in most of the cases. Problematic in low light conditions only, on the other hand shooting with timer and/or tripod is better than shooting with VR in those situations. This lens is a very light, all around workhorse for starters who don't want to spend a lot but get a lot :) images are sharp enough, not sharp as my 50mm but can be sharpen with Photoshop without distorting the image :)

This highly-regarded lens served me well during several lengthy backpacking trips. It focused well and the bokeh was pleasing (when it could be coaxed out of the narrow aperture). This was the last Nikon kit lens without image stabilisation, and I did wish that it had that feature.
