I currently have a Fuji X-E2 and an NEX-F3 and for birding (casual stuff only) and kids, I find the NEX to be much more proficient. Don't laugh, birds and kids are very similar subjects, they both move quickly and unpredictably! I like to take photos of birds in flight and like to shoot with multi-area focus and continuous autofocus, and the F3 does surprisingly well. In all categories that matter (autofocus speed, shutter lag, and most importantly the ability to focus on a small object in...
I've been a long time reader of DPR, and I've learnt quite a lot on these forums, so thank you! This last week, I got a new Fujifilm X-E2, and have been playing with it since. I've been very happy with the autofocus, the color rendering using in-camera JPG, and the nice bokeh. But, I've not been able to get my head aroung the Macro. Every single macro image I have taken with the kit lens (18-55) is out of focus. I can't imagine a macro could be so difficult. What would be the right steps to...
Hi all, Just one short question-during manual focusing with the 35 1.4 is it normal to hear any sound coming from the camera. Mine has some kind of "humming noise" as I rotate the focusing ring. Thanks --Andraswww.flickr.com/photos/sopiandriwww.pentaxphotogallery.com/andrassoproni
Have been using the X-E2 for a while and I am totally happy with the JPEGs s.o.c. I have however, increased sharpening +1 and find no necessity to post process for my taste. I have just acquired an X-E1 as a second body and find the JPEGs are noticeably softer. A little more contrast is what I need, but having toyed with Highlight & Shadow settings, I can't seem to get it right. I think I am at the stage where I have been at it now for too long. I realise it is a personal thing but just...
Hi, First post here so please be kind :) After much internet browsing/researching for a new camera and some time spent in John Lewis examining them I am looking to purchase a Fujifilm Xe2 with a couple of lenses. We currently have a Canon G10 and I hoping this will be a massive upgrade in terms of image quality. The G10 actually is quite a nice form factor. I have not done a great deal of photography in the past but have always want to explore the medium more. I am looking for something that...
I mostly use EVF to shoot. Then if I want to change something in the menu it shows up in EVF rather then screen. I have to switch view mode to screen for menu and then back to EVF to shoot every time. I would like to see menu on the screen even if I shoot in EVF, is there a solution for this? Thanks. P.S. playback is still using screen, but not the menu.
Fuji Canada has a mail-in promotion until the end of the month: if you get either one of these two bodies new they will send you a 18mm. I am thinking of switching to Fuji for mirrorless for a while (Sony failed to deliver lenses for APS-C mirrorless) and I am now tempted to join the X Mount crowd. But which one should I get? I have handled both in store a couple of times and I like the hybrid viewfinder on the X-Pro 1 among other things & the price is right esp. w/ the deal, but there is a...
I recently upgraded from LR 4 to LR 5.5 after discovering LR 4 will not work with my new Fuji X-E2. I have three computers all which now are using LR 5.5 1. A Dell Desktop running Windows 7 and LR 5.5--- No problems 2. A Mac mini OS X 10.8.4 and LR 5.5---No problems Both the above work fine with Fuji RAW files However, #3, my MacBook Pro (10.9.4) will not convert to DNG, giving me the dreaded "Could not be read" Not only that, but my Fuji X100s which was getting along fine with the MacBook...
