I'm strongly considering getting an XA1 as my first real camera (besides my phone), the price is very compelling. And I figure going higher even if I can doesn't make sense until I'm familiar with all the controls and intricacies of a camera with many controls. I can live without an EVF for the price, I guess that can be something to look forward to in the future. (And then save each penny and bide my time for a XT2... *drools*) Anyways, I'd welcome your impressions of the XA1, anything...

Can anyone advise me as to what is the simplest and cheapest way to get a reasonable decent macro image from my XA1? Do I need to purchase a lens w/mount or is there something that can screw into the end of the kit 16-50 lens? This something that I would use rarely , but I miss having the capability at my disposal. Thanks.

Let's start off by saying that I like N1 and have 2 J1 bodies now (had V1) with a collection of lenses. I see Fuji on sale now and is attractive to me for its price, sensor size AP-C, OOC jpeg quality and want to get it perhaps as a bridge between my J1 and FX. I tried it out in camera store and like its simplicity, good high ISO photos (12,800 looked great), but haven't had a chance to test it on our toddler :) I primarily use my N1 for kid photos (quick focus and instead of phone camera)...

Hi all, I'm new to the site and think it's great how active the forums are, so I thought this would be a good place to ask a question. I am trying to decide between an X20 or an X-A1. This will be my primary camera. I'm just getting back into photography, and is all I can afford at the moment. I will be using the camera for family/vacation shots and some street photography. Thanks for the replies

Hi I am looking to upgrade from a Samsung WB150f compact zoom. I know an upgrade to either the NX300 or XA1 would be quite a step up given they are APS-C, Interchangeable lens cameras but I am torn between which to buy: Price: For $100 less, i get a memory card, bag, Lightroom 4.0 extra on top of the NX300,With the XA-1, I get the camera and kit, period. Image quality: Most reviews, including the one here at dpreview, consistenly mention the superior image quality of the Fuji. Infact, Imaging...

When I first got the camera, I couldn't get PC Auto Save to work with my iMac running Maverick (OSX 10.9.2). I noticed some posts on here with the same problem. I decided to retry by deleting the app on my iMac and reinstalling it. Now the PC AUTO SAVE option on my X-A1 is grayed out on the menu and cannot be selected. Anyone else have this problem?  Maybe, it's another result of upgrading my firmware from 1.01 to 1.10?

(By the way, I'm not only a newbie to the forums, but to interchangeable lens cameras) I currently have a Canon Powershot SX500 and I'd like to get an upgrade. Preferably to a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. If you look at my vsco site, you can see that I don't necessarily have a preference in what I photograph (I take pictures of animals, landscape, food, buildings, etc.) so the camera would have to be pretty versatile.  I also would prefer if the camera is at least somewhat portable...

I have a couple of questions about the X-M1 / X-A1: 1. Does using a UHS-I SD card give a speed benefit over a standard class 10 card? I'm thinking particularly of whether the Transcend Ultimate cards give any benefit over the Transcend Premium cards? 2. According to the manual, you shouldn't use a flash with a trigger voltage of more than 300V with the camera. This seems very high, normally the advice with digital cameras seems to be more like don't use any flashes with a trigger voltage over...

I have planned to ca 450-500€ for my new digital camera. I have narrowed  my choice down to Fujifilms X20 or X-a1 camera. Both fit my budget and are small and easy to carry around. I am total beginner, therefore am I not going to invest in more lense (in short and medium time), but learning my way. I am tempted by xa1 large sensor and better low light performance. How can you compare x20's 28-112mm zoom lens to xa1's 16-50mm kit lens ? Do I have point to have only one lens on interchangeable...

So I'm moving up from my Canon S and these are my two choices; I'll consider something with a viewfinder for my next upgrade. I've read a bunch of reviews and both of these cameras are reported to be quite good, but considering I'll at some point get a nice small prime lens I want to get the right camera before investing in the lens ecosystem. It doesn't bother me that the NX is an older camera or that the X-M1 is only $150 or so more because I like the way both of these look, are priced. I...
